the war is over

and it took you from me

i'll walk the blood-marked grounds

asking how to be

i'll plant an oak for you

to make myself feel

like you exist somewhere in this world

still

and not just in my memory

a restless dream.

more metaphoric poems come out few and far between. i simply hate being unclear. but then, on the other hand, the above kind is more emotive and THAT is what i value in poetry (or non-dry/educational writing in general): how it can add to dry explanations by making one FEEL them. those kinds of poems/etc are my favourite.

the first two lines are kinda irrelevant. they're the feeling that inspired the rest. but the actual, grief-related value is in the lines from 3rd or 4th to the last. how humans try to immortalize what they love. carry ashes in a pendant, and so on. we're so funny and silly

for no apparent reason. enjoy ✌️
