"Is he doing well??" Deva asked while entering the ward room…
"he is stable" magnus replied plainly, his voice was stained… he stood up from the chair on seeing deva..
it's around 8 am in the morning … Throughout the night Magnus stayed with Alec and looked after him , he didn't cry, he didn't talk he just breathed and existed for all night, he also asked every other firefighter to leave and take some rest because it's already a long day for all of them…
Deva checked on the monitor and breathed out in relief.. "He is such a menace right..?" Deva teased
Magnus smiled in return.. Deva could see that emptiness in his smile.. She couldn't feel life in it..
"he will be fine!!! Once a fighter is always a fighter" Deva said and patted Magnus' shoulder and handed him a cover of Alec's belongings…
Magnus grabbed the cover and placed it on the stand next to alec's bed… alec was lying there peacefully , he was still sleeping and drips were connected, the beeping ECG monitor is the only sound echo in that room… deva looked at alec and shifted her gaze to magnus..
"you both won't shut your mouth when you are around each other.. But isn't it strange that you were sitting silently without saying a word to him?" Deva asked Magnus , sensing that something is off with Magnus, it's more than Alec's being in bed all wounded and unconscious …
Magnus smiled painfully… Deva was sure that he was dealing with something else too..
Deva :You know well that you can talk to the person When they are unconscious . There might be a chance that they will listen .. You better spill it out to him….he is not gonna argue back for next 2 hours, so just cry it out magnus, cry it out to your alec… (she said looking at magnus who dares to look into anyone's eyes right now)
Magnus :I wish it would be that easy!! (he said and he actually doesn't want to talk about it, so he wants to change the topic ) so, did you talk to her?? (he tried to change the topic)
Deva : Haan, Yes…I forgot to say this to you.. I talked to her.. At first she thought I was crazy, she was arrogant and then she started to overreact and yell at me ,she did some drama and threw mean words at me .. And then I showed some CCTV footage taken from our hospital… like he is threatening and molesting you almost everyday and the footage he makes out with whoever passes his way, staff, nurse, doctors, interns .. I show each and every footage that I had as evidence.. And I saw that fierce lady breaking down right in front of me…I felt really sorry for her.. he had a little daughter Magnus, she is tiny .. How could he be like this.. God irresponsible and disgusting human he is… (she said shaking her head in disgusting way)
Magnus : I am sorry that I made you do this.. But that women Deserves to know the truth, deva…she don't have to live a life with this lusty monster, a pervert like him… it's not fair… you did the right thing… (he said with a encouraging smile )
Deva : If you say so… (she chuckled) This is Her number.. Call her when you are ready.. Okay!!! (she gave a card to magnus Who took it with a gentle nod.) I already talked about it to Ivana's friend, he is working as a cop… all you need to do is.. Set a trap, Get him caught red handed and they will lock him up…. (she said confidently) and don't forget to call her (she added)
Magnus : I will because I have to do this..…he need to pay for what he did to my alec… (he said looking at alec who was still sleeping peacefully)
Deva :Okay I gotta go.. Call me if you need anything… (she said and left patting magnus shoulder who nodded in return)
Magnus sat next to Alec and saw the cover he placed over the stand .. Alec's wallet, watch, his broken personal mobile, his office mobile everything was there but the one thing that caught his eyes was the shining wedding ring on the white cloth… magnus lips started to tremble on seeing that ring…all the good and painful memories rushed back to his head… he took the ring gently and caressed it with his index finger… it still shines like he saw it for the first time.. It's still pure
