As Seher stood before the imposing Mitchell Mansion, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of awe and trepidation. She raised the heavy metal knocker, allowing it to fall against the massive wooden doors with a resounding thud. The wait felt like an eternity, but finally, the doors swung open, revealing a woman in a sophisticated maid's uniform. Her expression was neutral as she addressed Seher.

"You must be Seher Sandhu," the woman stated matter-of-factly, her tone professional.

Seher nodded in affirmation, holding her precious Meher in her arms. The woman glanced at Meher briefly before stepping aside and gesturing for Seher to enter.

"Please come inside," she said, "The master, Mr. Mitchell, is waiting for you in the foyer."

Seher followed the maid into the mansion, her eyes wide as she took in the opulent surroundings. She couldn't help but notice the living room to her left, elegantly decorated with plush furniture and tasteful artwork. A glass door led to a family room beyond, offering a glimpse of the pristine interior.

The hallways stretched out before her, adorned with exquisite paintings and intricate wallpaper. The grand staircase, which looked like something out of a fairy tale, led to the upper floors. However, what struck Seher the most was the absence of personal items or family photos. The house was immaculate, devoid of any indication that a toddler lived there. It was a stark contrast to her tiny one-bedroom apartment, where she dodged one of Meher's toys at least a hundred times a day.

Seher's attention returned to her daughter, who was gaping wide-eyed at everything around her. While Seher was lost in her thoughts, the maid, named Ronda, instructed her to wait on the couch.

"Make sure your child doesn't dirty the furniture," Ronda added abruptly before turning away to leave. The remark left Seher feeling insulted, and she gingerly picked Meher up in her arms, ensuring that the little one wouldn't inadvertently damage anything in the grand mansion.

With hesitance, Seher approached the pristine beige couch, standing beside it rather than sitting. She continued to survey the surroundings, feeling out of place in the luxurious house.

Soon, the sound of footsteps approached, and Seher's gaze landed on a wavy-haired man entering the foyer. This was Daniel Mitchell, the man she had met through a video call during the interview. However, this was the first time she was seeing him in person, and she couldn't help but be struck by his undeniable charm.

In her thoughts, Seher mused that describing him as "good-looking" would be an understatement. Daniel had wavy brown hair and a five o'clock shadow that lent him a rugged charm. His tall frame loomed over her 5 feet 6 inches, and she guessed he was at least a little above 6 feet. He was dressed in a dark blue suit with a light blue shirt, no tie, and impeccably polished black shoes.

With a small, disarming smile, he approached Seher and extended his hand. "Hello, Miss Sandhu," he greeted in his husky voice, his American accent giving her name a unique lilt.

Seher momentarily lost herself in admiration before regaining her composure. "Hello Mr. Mitchell, please call me Seher," she replied, feeling her cheeks redden slightly.

Daniel's intense gaze ran from head to toe before he said, "Alright, Seher but only if you call me Daniel."

His accent added a certain charm to her name, making it sound unique. However, their attention was soon drawn to the little bundle in Seher's arms-Meher.

Daniel crouched down, extending a hand toward Meher with a warm smile. "Hello, little baby," he cooed gently, "My name is Daniel, and you are so pretty."

Meher, though young, was not too young to be flattered. Blushing in response, she gazed at him with her big green eyes and tried to repeat the compliment. "Pwetty," she lisped adorably, which brought a soft chuckle from both Seher and Daniel.

Daniel gestured for Seher to sit down on the couch, which she did somewhat reluctantly. He then signaled to a nearby maid to bring water for Seher and apple juice for Meher.

As they settled down and engaged in small talk, Meher's curious eyes roamed around the room. Eventually, her gaze landed on someone observing them from behind a pillar near the grand staircase-a pair of big grey eyes.

Meher nudged her mother to look in the same direction, and Seher followed her gaze to find Liam Mitchell, the adorable 3-year-old whom she was meant to look after. Their eyes met briefly, and Seher offered a warm smile before turning her attention back to Daniel.

However, the inevitable introduction between Liam and Seher was destined to happen. Daniel called his son over and introduced him face to face to their new nanny.

"Hello, ma'am," Liam greeted Seher with a sweet smile, his words carrying a charming little lisp. He then turned his attention to Meher, looking at her as if she were his favorite teddy bear. "Hello, Meher," he said with a gentle tone, "I am Liam."

Meher giggled adorably and reached out her tiny arms, attempting to hug Liam as best as she could. The sight of their children interacting melted the hearts of both Seher and Daniel, reinforcing the sense that they were now connected by their roles as caregivers.

Daniel suggested that Liam take Meher to his playroom so they could play together while the parents discussed logistics. Seher picked up Meher, and the children held hands as they headed towards the playroom, their laughter filling the air.

With the children occupied, Daniel began to provide Seher with a detailed schedule for Liam's activities and routines. He also introduced her to the other staff members, including Rhonda, the head maid whom Seher had initially met and who had been less than welcoming.

Seher listened attentively, absorbing all the information. Daniel then asked, "Have you had breakfast?"

Seher nodded. "Yes, we had breakfast," she replied, referring to Meher's meal.

Daniel showed her around the kitchen, assuring her that she had free access to it for cooking for Meher or herself. Just when Seher thought she had grasped the basics of her role, Daniel dropped a bombshell that left her stunned and curious.
