Following a delightful lunch served through room service, the family gave in to the allure of a restful nap. Maximilian held Meher close, stroking her hair tenderly until she was lulled into sleep, with her parents soon joining her in slumber.

As the clock struck two, they roused themselves, eager for their evening stroll. Maximilian chose a relaxed yet fashionable outfit, slipping into washed black denim and a sharp white tee, his look completed by sleek black sneakers. On the other hand, Seher dressed Meher in charming denim shorts with a cheerful yellow frill top, her curly locks arranged into two perfect braids framing her face.

Seher was tending to Meher's hair, gently running her fingers through the curls as she remarked, "Aapke baal kafi lambe ho gaye hain, Mahi. I think trimming ka time aa gaya hai"
(Your hair is getting quite long, Mahi. I think it's time for a trim.)

She caressed her daughter's locks, now reaching her mid-back, and noted the increasing difficulty in managing them, especially as the summer months approached. "If we don't trim them soon, they'll become problematic for both of us," she added.

Maximilian, having overheard the conversation, stepped outside with a puzzled expression. Though Seher often conversed in Hindi, a language he wasn't fully proficient in, he could discern her concern. Upon seeing Seher murmuring to herself in Hindi, he gave her a curious look before she clarified, "I was just contemplating trimming Meher's hair. With school most probably starting this year, managing her curly locks could become more challenging."

Maximilian's eyes grew wide as he neared his daughter, turning to Seher and saying, "Sweetheart, I know you're pro at handling her hair, and I'm trying to get the hang of it. But even with my own long hair, the complex styles you whip up are a tough nut to crack. Still, I'm up for the challenge. Just, let's not go for a big chop, okay? Meher's long curls are so beautiful. Why cut them short?"

Seher laughed gently at Maximilian's concerned look and soothed his worries, "Ian, don't worry, I'm not going for the big chop, as you mention it. It's just a little trim to keep it looking healthy. You know, regular cuts are important for lush hair."

Maximilian frowned at this, but nodded in agreement, "You know best, but remember to take me along when you take her for this little trim." Seher chuckled softly, responding with a playful, "Yes, sir."

Maximilian's expression darkened as he leaned in closer to Seher, whispering in her ear, "Remember that word tonight when I am fucking you into oblivion da, malyshka?" A slight blush tinted Seher's cheeks as she pushed him away with a playful grin and finished the second pleat in Meher's hair.

After a quick shower, Seher got dressed in a lavender-colored dress with puffed sleeves, while Maximilian helped Meher into her socks and shoes. Forty minutes later, the trio stepped outside, Seher carrying her handbag filled with Meher's essentials: an extra dress, socks, a jacket, snacks, and water. Meanwhile, Maximilian retrieved a set of child cuffs, securing one on his wrist and the other on his daughter's.

Explaining to Meher the importance of safety in a bustling city like New York, Maximilian wanted her to explore freely while ensuring her protection. Even if she wandered off, he would be able to keep her close. This trip was meant for both Meher and Seher to cherish. The little one's curiosity and inquisitiveness brought her joy, while Seher found happiness in capturing every moment through her camera lens.

The trio opted for a cab ride to Central Park instead of using Maximilian's car and driver waiting in the hotel parking lot. He had intentionally postponed calling for the car, wanting to immerse themselves fully in the New York experience, including the iconic yellow cabs. Twenty minutes later, they arrived at their destination and exited the cab. Their first stop was the petting zoo in Central Park, marking the beginning of their planned adventures.
