It had been nearly two months since Seher had started working for Daniel, and life in their household was as peaceful and delightful as it could be. Today was a special day, Christmas, and the excitement was palpable among the four residents of the house. They were eagerly looking forward to a joyful Christmas Eve celebration, which would include exchanging gifts. Tomorrow, they were embarking on a much-anticipated trip to New York City. Daniel had promised Liam that he would fulfill his dream of witnessing the famous ball drop on New Year's Eve in Times Square.

Liam had seen the ball drop on television once and had been pestering his father to take him to New York for New Year's ever since. Daniel had finally decided that this would be the year to make it happen. However, the driving force behind his excitement extended beyond fulfilling Liam's dream. It was the presence of Seher and Meher that made this trip all the more special for him. He couldn't shake the feeling that this journey would be extraordinary, and he was bubbling with enthusiasm.

For the past month, Daniel had been subtly drawing closer to Seher. He initiated conversations, stole fleeting moments with her, and displayed affectionate gestures. Sometimes, he held her hand during conversations, or when they took the children to the park, or even during dinner. He made sure to include her in discussions, showered her with compliments, and took every opportunity to make her blush, which had become his favorite pastime. Whether he admired her appearance, praised her culinary skills, or simply admired her in her element, he couldn't hide his growing desire for her. He had set his sights on Seher and had decided that this New Year's would mark the beginning of their romantic journey. He envisioned starting the new year with her by his side, making their family complete.

On the other hand, Seher was a mix of excitement and nervousness. This trip was a significant event for her, as it was her first time venturing beyond the borders of Chicago and India. She felt a tinge of guilt about Daniel bearing all the expenses. She had even meticulously planned an expense strategy, proposing a way to repay her share over time. However, Daniel had firmly declined her offer, insisting that she was coming along as Liam's nanny, not for leisure, and it was part of her job. Although Seher had reluctantly agreed, she had resolved to find a way to repay him in the future. She had learned the importance of independence the hard way and didn't want to be dependent on anyone again.

The children, Liam and Meher, were brimming with excitement. Liam understood that his father was finally taking him to witness the famous ball drop in New York City. He had been talking Meher's ear off about it, even though she couldn't fully comprehend what he was saying. Yet, just sensing Liam's excitement made her eager for the adventure ahead. Liam had also taught her how to say "Merry Christmas" and "New York," which she pronounced in the most adorable way.

During this time, Meher had also formed a special bond with Daniel. His compliments and the nickname "little bird" he had given her never failed to make her giggle with delight. She had even attempted to say his name but ended up calling him "Dan Dan."

As the trip drew closer, Daniel had meticulously planned their entire week in New York, down to the very day. He had carefully organized activities and time alone with Seher. He had even arranged for a special date night, enlisting the help of one of his close friends and their spouse in New York to watch over the children for the evening. Daniel was confident that by the end of this trip, Seher would be more than just his nanny; she would be his partner in every sense of the word.

As evening descended upon the mansion, the four of them gathered for an early dinner. After the meal, Daniel called all the house staff to the living room to distribute their Christmas bonuses and to announce that they would be on leave for the next week, allowing them to spend an extended New Year with their families. Ronda, one of the house staff, couldn't help but inquire with a sweet tone, "Master Mitchell, I was wondering if Miss Sandhu and her daughter would be staying alone in the mansion during your trip, or would they be in the servant quarters?"
