Daniel approached the children in Meher's nursery, the room bathed in an atmosphere of innocence and joy. Their laughter echoed harmoniously as they immersed themselves in play, surrounded by an array of colorful toys, each holding a story of its own. Megawatt smiles adorned their faces, turning the space into a haven of unabashed delight.

Observing the scene, Daniel found solace in the purity that radiated from Liam and Meher, his son and Seher's daughter, engaged in the simple pleasure of playing. Their giggles and animated chatter seemed to transcend the complexities of the adult world, creating a cocoon of happiness within those four walls.

In contrast to the intricate tapestry of whites, blacks, and grays that adults navigated, children perceived the world through a lens of vibrant hues. Pink, blue, yellow, and purple painted their worldview, transforming their surroundings into a kaleidoscope of colors. Their simplicity not only illuminated the room but also brought an unparalleled sense of joy, casting away the shadows that adults often carried.

As Daniel stood there, he marveled at the beauty of their bond. The children, oblivious to the intricacies of grown-up life, were immersed in a world where the only language spoken was that of joy. Liam, with animated gestures, narrated tales of the promised Disneyland trip-a pledge made on the birthdays of Meher and Seher.

Meher, in turn, looked at Liam with wide eyes filled with admiration, as if he were the orchestrator of enchantment. While the specifics of Liam's babbling might elude her, the connection between them was palpable. It was a connection so genuine and untainted that it painted the room with an ethereal glow.

Turning his attention to Meher, Daniel felt a profound regret. The memory of her tearful distress, a consequence of his unintentional actions, weighed heavily on him. Acknowledging that Seher would soon join them, he sensed an urgency to express his remorse to Meher in a manner befitting a two-year-old's understanding. Daniel yearned to bridge the unintentional gap he had created before Seher returned, her maternal presence forming a protective shield around her daughter.

With a gentle smile, Daniel lowered himself to the floor and joined the duo, crossing his legs. Liam, engrossed in his tales, momentarily looked up as his father who affectionately ruffled his hair before returning to the animated conversation. Now, with his attention directed at Meher, Daniel's demeanor softened even more.

"Meher, my little darling," Daniel spoke in a voice that carried warmth and reassurance, a deep timbre that resonated through the room. With a tender gesture, he extended his large hand towards the innocent toddler, whose eyes sparkled with curiosity and delight. Meher, in her pure innocence, responded by placing her tiny hand in his, emitting a joyful giggle that echoed the room, a harmonious melody of childhood innocence.

"Dan-Dan scared you the other day, Meher," Daniel inquired, leaning in slightly, making the interaction more personal. Meher, with her head slightly tilted to the side, displayed a telltale sign that she hadn't fully grasped the context of his words. Daniel, recognizing this, gently shook his head and clarified, "Dan-Dan made you cry, Meher."

A flicker of realization danced in Meher's eyes, and she responded by shaking her head, as if conveying a sense of disappointment, and softly uttered, "Meher scawed." The simplicity of her acknowledgment tugged at Daniel's heart, emphasizing the impact of his unintentional actions.

Expressing deep remorse, Daniel continued, "I know, baby, and I am so sorry. Dan-Dan will never shout again, I promise you." To emphasize his commitment, he extended the little finger of his other hand, a symbolic gesture of trust and assurance. Meher, with a mixture of curiosity and innocence, gazed at the offered finger for a moment before seeking further confirmation, "Pwomise?"
