Maximilian, Seher, and Meher were set for an adventurous day the following morning. It was the eve of Seher and Meher's birthday, April 14th, and Maximilian had carefully planned the day with a focus on Meher's favorite activities. He experienced a twinge of guilt for not having as many surprises for Seher but understood that as parents, delighting in their child's happiness is paramount. While adults may enjoy children's activities, the opposite is seldom true, especially for a three-year-old. Maximilian consoled himself with the thought that the evening's festivities, especially the latter part of the birthday celebration, would compensate amply.

Following a hearty buffet breakfast at The Plaza, Maximilian donned an olive green t-shirt paired with black jeans, his hair neatly tied back in a bun, complemented by his reliable black boots. Seher chose a pair of high-waisted khaki pants with a breezy white top and comfortable sneakers. In contrast, their little fashionista, Meher, decided to mirror her father's style with a matching olive green top, black jeans, and black footwear. Seher, sensing the memorable moments ahead, was prepared to capture the day's events through her lens.

At precisely quarter to ten, they departed from their hotel, opting to stroll to FAO Schwarz, the iconic toy store in New York celebrated for its extensive toy collection, engaging displays, and one-of-a-kind shopping experience. As one of the most storied toy stores globally, Maximilian intended to dedicate several hours there to fulfill Meher's dreams. He had entertained her with tales of this magical place and the legendary Hamleys in London, hinting at exciting journeys yet to come.

Their ten-minute journey through Central Park South and down Fifth Avenue to 30 Rockefeller Plaza was a feast for the senses, with the vibrant sights and sounds of New York City enveloping them. The April climate was idyllic, the sun beaming down complemented by a soothing breeze, neither too warm nor too chilly. The city's dynamic energy buzzed around them, and Meher, ever curious, peppered the walk with numerous questions, taking in her surroundings.

They arrived at FAO Schwarz just past 10 o'clock. Without hesitation, they made a beeline for the iconic Big Piano. Meher couldn't contain her excitement, hopping and dancing across the keys, each note sparking laughter and wonder.

They then meandered through the store's myriad toy exhibits. Meher engaged in animated conversation with someone costumed as a teddy bear, expressing her wish to bring the "bear" home. The costumed individual could only offer a headshake in response. Persistent, Meher tugged at the teddy's paw, deploying her most convincing look of entreaty, her heart set on sleeping beside the large teddy bear. Her persistence waned only when Maximilian assured her of a teddy bear toy of equal size.

Their adventure continued as they encountered Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, and even Tom and Jerry. Finally, they arrived at the Build-A-Bear workshop, where Meher dedicated herself to selecting each aspect of her new bear with utmost care.

Choosing a classic brown bear, unstuffed, with a staff member's guidance, she filled it generously with stuffing to the desired firmness. The heart ceremony that followed was a touching scene. Meher picked out a small, purple heart and, encouraged by the assistant, closed her eyes and tenderly kissed the heart. This act, the assistant explained, was a special moment where the child makes a wish before the heart is lovingly placed inside Meher's new bear. Another staff member assisted in stitching up the bear, setting the stage for the delightful part to come.

Holding a tiny golden brush, Meher settled down to meticulously groom her bear from head to toe, making sure it was as soft and presentable as possible. Seher watched her daughter, capturing countless photos and videos, pondering over a previous conversation with Maximilian about Meher's distinctiveness. Seher had observed throughout the day how Meher's responses and insights stood out from her peers. While the other children rushed towards the accessories and outfits, Meher devoted her time to perfecting her bear.
