Sumo happily walked ahead of you and Nines, who had been awfully quiet. You really had no clue what to say to him, these emotions were really new to him. It was going to be difficult for him to understand at times, anger was naturally hard to deal with as a human. It was bound to be even harder for an Android who had just discovered feelings.

"Can we go home soon?" Nines asked out of the blue, he turned his head to look at you. A very fragile look in his eyes.

"Yeah, we can. Let's just make sure Sumo enjoys his walk though." You answered Nines who nodded and looked down at Sumo, whose tail was constantly wagging.

"I am glad that he is happy." Nines sighed as you squeezed his hand tightly.

"He's a very happy dog, who loves you." You told Nines, who squeezed your hand back.

He just seemed sad now.

"He does not love me." Nines said shaking his head, you knew for a second that he didn't even believe his own words.

"Yes he does, you're just being silly." You pointed out to him, Nines tried to look at you with a serious expression but failed. The smallest smile tugging at his lips.

"Thank you for talking me down, I think it would have been a mistake to hit RK800 in front of Hank." Nines thanked you as you reached the park, Sumo instantly began to tug on his lead in excitement.

"It's okay, as someone who's acted out on their anger and got suspended, I wouldn't suggest it." You shrugged while pulling a face, a small chuckle escaping Nines.

"Well, I suppose I should take your advice then. As you have experience." Nines stated as you nodded vigorously, it was quite late so the park was quiet.

Silence fell between the two of you as you moved through the park with Sumo, who happily moved just ahead of you both.

Your thoughts wandered in silence you instantly thought about the fact that it really felt like you and Nines were a couple, walking your dog late at night. As always you couldn't stop yourself from staring at him, he looked a lot calmer than he was when you left Hanks house.

"Nines." You blurted out as his head snapped in your direction.

"Yes, Y/N?" He said, tilting his head to the side.

'Oh shit, think of something to say quickly!' You screamed at yourself, you didn't even mean to call out to him.

"Do you really want a dog?" You breathed out, he frowned for a second before nodding his head.

"Yes I would like us to get one, I think it would be nice to have a dog." Nines answered you, a small smile on his face.

"Well, I'm not saying yes. But I'll think about it. Dogs are-"

"A big responsibility? Yes I am aware. Just like children they are big responsibilities too." Nines cut in as you thought about his response.

Why had he mentioned children?

They were way different to dogs.

Children were way worse.

"I mean... kind of?" You mumbled with a confused look on your face.

"No they are very similar. Children need to be fed. So do dogs. Children and dogs both need exercise and both need discipline. They both learn and they both have accidents, I do not think humans realise how similar they really are." Nines explained to you, your mouth involuntarily dropped open, thinking about it. He wasn't entirely wrong.

"Now that you say that... you can also talk to children the same way you speak to a dog." You commented as he raised an eyebrow at you.

"That is how I first coped with Samuel. I just spoke to him like you would a domestic dog, it worked." Nines shrugged, casually.
