Chapter 13

My heart felt like it could explode out of my chest now. We'd come out of the elevator without showing any signs of what happened between us. When we reached the parking lot, which looked like it was a ramp for the cars itself, I saw the 4 elders. All of them waved at us. More specifically, at me. I had spoken a bit with Jay and Sunghoon but not with the other two. Jake looked really cute and outgoing in his light brown shirt and cream color pants. His expression was all jolly and excited. Whenever I saw comments online calling him a dog, I never understood why. But now I kind of did. He had a certain golden retriever energy even in his smallest movements. His bronze hair did complete justice to his face.

I did not look past Jake to Heeseung, too embarrassed after Niki revealing that he was on my wallpaper. Remembering the incident, I bought the embarrassment back. I jabbed Niki in his stomach with my elbow, and he doubled over.

"What's wrong with you?!" he groaned.

"What's wrong is that I can't face Heeseung after you told everyone I had him in my wallpaper." I hissed at him.

He considered that for a second.

"But still, you broke my rib." He face cried.

I looked at him indifferently and stood by sunoo, who gave me his cute chubby smile, melting my heart immediately.

"Gather children. Everyone gets in the car." He said, nodding towards the...car? Van? Whatever it was, it was huge. Blame my lack of knowledge in automobiles.

I fidgeted around, not knowing where to sit. There was a place for 10 members. With the driver already sitting there. I wanted to wait until everyone settled in so I could take the spare seat somewhere.

"Leah, who do you want to sit with?" Jay asked me, and my mouth dropped. I get to choose?! The rest of the boys looked at him, some more expectant than others.

"I mean, I don't know. Any leftover seat is fine for me." I said, still bewildered.

"Any leftover..." Sunghoon mumbled, reminding me I need to be conscious of what I say.

"we're not pushing you off to a co-," jay started but was interrupted by three voices.

"Is that even a question?"

"She'll sit with me."

"I'm saving a seat for her."

Niki, Jungwon, and Sunoo.

"Not you, Niki. You're still in trouble, so Heeseung is going to be with you the whole time." Jay reminded him and pushed him forward to heeseung.

Now jungwon and Sunoo were triumphant as they patted the seat between them. One thing was clear, I loved these two more than Windows.

I sat in the passenger seat and checked if everyone had settled. Behind me, jake and Sunghoon were talking about some food they liked in the hotel, then Jungwon and Sunoo were already on a mission to make Leah laugh by telling her all the embarrassing stories of us. And behind them, Heeseung, laughing at a sulking Niki who wanted Leah with him. All the maknaes had taken a liking to her. Another wave of laughter erupted from them, and Sunghoon looked at me and smiled at him in reassurance. We had discussed Leah a few days ago. When we noticed that Niki was going batshit crazy because she had blocked him, which surprised the 4 of us. She was an engene but blocked Niki? Interesting.

I had repeated all the events that Niki told me to try and understand the girl. For the most part, it looked it she wanted to keep Niki comfortable by not telling him she was a fan, and I appreciated that. Sunoo and Jungwon were completely smitten by the way she stepped in to save Niki from the goons. They had listened to him speak about her for so long. Explaining her attempt to take him out of the situation when Niki himself could see that she was nervous. He talked about how she reminded him of us when she started scolding him in the bus stop or her defeated look when her phone rang. Which, if you think about it, is really funny.

A roar of laughter sounded again from the backside. Jungwon had just told Leah about something Niki did, and niki clamped his hand on jungwon's mouth to stop him. A small smile played on Heeseung'slips as he saw the scene in front of him. Similar expressions mirroringSunghoon's and Jake's face. The maknaes were growing attached to her in a really short span of time. But we weren't worried. Jake looked at me with a knowingly gaze. We were convinced that she was a good person. I stretched my body and looked outside. It was about time we had an interesting person around.
