"I've never seen Jungwon that angry before you know?"

"Girl, Jay was ready to rip Minhwan into pieces. He even spent so much on her. Those bags that arri-"

"Noona?"

Those girls fell silent when Niki called for me from the main area. He was looking around to find me. I threw the wrapper in the dustbin and straight up walked past those girls to Niki.

"What were you doing?" He asked me.

"Nothing Niki." I opened my bag and handed him a chocolate.

"Oh thank you."

We went out to see Jay and Heeseung waiting for us. I settled in between Sunghoon and Jungwon.

"There you are. We were looking for you." Sunghoon said.

"Now there's something I want to tell you." Jungwon started but I interrupted him.

"Wonnie could you give me 10 mins? I think my headache is coming back."

It was a lie. But he bought it. And almost panicked until I told him it was fine and I had my pills with me. Sunghoon was just confused about why I got a headache out of nowhere but he asked he to rest. Jungwon offered me to rest on his shoulder but I declined and chose to sit straight. He was surprised by my denial. He'd never had to ask me before. I always leaned onto him whenever he was around or vice versa. But he chose to stay silent.

I put my headphones on for the first time in the car with them and closed my eyes. Sumin and Minhwan, whoever these two were, were fired. Because of me they said. It didn't take long for me to remember what Heejin had told me.

"Those who wanted to throw you out on the first day."

The first people I'd met from the staff. A man and a woman. Heejin had said they were fired for leaking confidential information. These two girls said they were fired because of how they behaved with me. Jungwon had asked me not to trust Heejin. When the rumor spoke about Jungwon himself. This was so confusing.

Now I trusted Jungwon more than a baseless rumor. But still, my mind drifted over it. These girls didn't sound reliable either. Their rumor had lots of lies in them.

Heeseung had dropped me home only twice. And only one of them was known to others. Jay never spent any money on me. Because I don't think they're counting food and Snow World tickets. Black magic was pure rubbish.

But could there be some truth to the rumors? Maybe it was something in their eyes that day that was making me uncomfortable. It wasn't just anger. It was a murderous rage. It was the way Heeseung had slammed that guy on the wall. How Niki had destroyed a lamp because of...what? He couldn't 'protect' me from harm?

Now that I think about it, his reaction to such a small thing was too severe to be ignored. All of theirs was. How and why did I ignore it that time? Niki's reaction was not normal. I fought the urge to look at him and kept my eyes closed.

This was messy. I wanted to believe in them but at the same time, a small part of me thought there was some truth to the rumors. What were the chances of them telling me the truth if I asked them? The topic was never brought up so it was kind of hard to tell. I was in the middle of contemplating whether or not to ask someone when my phone rang. I looked down at my phone and gasped. It was my father.

I swiveled around at everyone and shushed them. Everyone immediately fell silent.

"It's my father," I said and there was pin-drop silence around me. I cleared my throat in picked up.
