After more than an hour of cheering and blushing, I laughed at the maknaes' interaction with the fans. They were fooling around and playing little games with the audience. Each of them was eager to establish themselves as the coolest maknae. And obviously, in Niki's presence, the rest two were failing miserably.

The hyung line was out to change their outfits. It was almost time for the last performance of the day. And I couldn't wait to see what this 'surprise' end performance was.

"Everyone, you might want to pray for good luck in the next 15 minutes. Because only one of yours will be acknowledged." Jungwon said.

The fans asked what the surprise was but Jungwon continued to snicker and tease them. Sunoo and Niki were spread out on the stage as they talked to different sections. I laughed along with the crowd to something that Sunoo said but a tap on my shoulder distracted me.

I looked to my side to see a staff member next to my seat. He looked about in his late twenties, wearing black and white shirt and trousers. He leaned closer for me to hear his words.

"Excuse me mam, would you please step aside for a minute?" He said in a hushed tone.

"Huh? Why?" I looked at him in confusion.

"We need to run some security protocols." He said.

I stared at him in confusion. Security checks on me? The people around me were starting to get annoyed. They looked back and forth between me and the staff.

"It's urgent." He said.

I saw his eyes darting around in anxiety. I figured it wasn't the security but he wasn't saying the real reason because of the number of people in earshot. I nodded and stood up from my place. He led me out to the stairs between the sections before whispering.

"Heeseung is calling you to the greenroom, urgently. Something’s gone wrong, and he needs you there right away." He said.

My eyes widened. Heeseung was in trouble?

"How do we get there? I can't go into the backstage with everyone present." I said anxiously.

"This way." The staff beckoned me to the side entrance of the arena.

I hurriedly followed him inside and into the long corridor.

"There's a connecting corridor here that leads to the greenrooms." He said.

I nodded and we sped down deeper into the hallway. I fished out my phone and checked for any calls from Heeseung. When I found none, I dialed him myself. But the call went to voice mail.

The number you are calling is not answering. Please try again later.

"He's not picking up." I muttered.

"The phones are kept with their belongings during the performances." The staff explained. "They won't have it around."

"Okay." I said.

I looked around the area. We were still walking along the corridor. Sometime when I was focused on my phone, we had taken a few turns. The hallway was empty now, devoid of any other staff or guards. The entrance at least had a few guards lined up. But this place was empty. Though I could still hear Niki's voice from the arena.

"Are we sure this is the right way?" I asked.

"Yes. Just a few more turns."

I was starting to doubt if we were going the correct way. Why was this place so deserted? Maybe everyone was flocked in the backstage?

"Uh is this-"

"Hello? Yes, we're right down the hallway. We'll be there in a minute." The man said hurriedly into his phone.
