We chatted away for a long while as if we hadn't been doing just that the whole ride here. We munched on berries and sipped our hot chocolates. Sometime during our conversation, we had scooted closer. And now we were sitting almost side by side but still facing each other. I hugged my legs that were drawn close to my chest.

It was 3 AM. The chilly breeze rushed past my face. I blew out some air and chuckled at the breath cloud that evaporated into the air.

"Why do you like cold so much?" Jake asked me.

I hummed and watched the cloud go past my fingers before turning to him. "My school was in this kind of a place. Surrounded by wilderness. The bus used to come at 5:30 in the morning,"

I smiled as I reminisced. "So no matter the season, it was always cold. And my-"

As I was speaking, Jake unclipped my hair. "Go on."

"...my window was never closed even when it was 12 degrees." I continued.

As I talked, he threaded his fingers into my hair, slowly untangling the mess of knots. His finger brushed down the small length of my hair, searching for any more mess as he answered me.

"Damn. And others let you?" He asked in disbelief.

"Perks of sitting in the last." I winked.

Jake laughed and shook his head. "It means this cold should be nothing for you."

I nodded, confirming his statement.

"I like that feeling of cold hands." I touched my nose. "And colder nose."

Jake tilted his head and touched his own nose and immediately scrunched his face. "Umhh I don't like being cold."

"Then I can't imagine the change you had to face after moving from Brisbane to Seoul." I patted his head in sympathy.

"True. You...you'll like Seoul's weather. Doesn't go above 35." He said hesitantly.

My smile faltered and I looked away from him. He removed his hands from my hair. With a finger on my chin, he turned me back to face him.

"I'm not adding onto the existing pressure. But..." He gulped. "Is it wrong for me to want the same?"

"I...I guess not." I muttered.

"Guess?" He asked in disbelief. "You're still guessing?"

"I-I don't mean it in that way." I shook my head. "I just didn't expect you to be so eager for it."

"You're kidding me, right?" Jake searched her eyes. "Darling?"

I regretted saying it out loud. I had only considered Heeseung to be forceful about it because he was the only one I talked to. And it looked like I had accidentally struck a nerve.

The gentle touch Jake had over my chin tightened. He pulled my face close to his. And for the first time, I had saw that look in his eyes that I had never seen before.

"Darling, I want you there as well. I just like sitting back and watching you mess around with the maknaes. Or see the elders melt into a puddle when you hop over to them with a huge smile on your face."

He sighed and left my face. "If I don't say, it doesn't mean I don't feel."

When he locked eyes with me, I felt a twist in my gut. His fingers brushed against my jaw. Our breath clouds were mingling together.

"Say it then." I whispered.

From sneaky glances we had while I messed around with the maknaes or sitting with the elders to the makeshift therapy notes under my door, all of it was out in the open on this chilly night. I wanted it to be vocal now. Seal the last thing in our relationship.
