Chapter 64

Time slowed down. The already quiet room faded away from my focus. His lips were soft, gently paced against mine. The butterflies in my stomach went wild. Niki hands trembled on my thigh. I think mine did too. My fingers threaded into his hair. He closed the remaining distance between us. Or whatever was left of it.

When I drew back, I felt the ghost of his lips following mine for a second before I opened my eyes. Right then, the tears in Niki's eyes would forever be etched into my brain.

"I waited so long for this." A tear slipped his eye.

"Baby..." I wiped his tears, feeling awful for making him cry. "I'm so sorry. I was so caught up in myself that I never considered how you might be feeling."

He shook his head and closed his eyes.
"Please don't do that again." Another tear slipped past his closed eyes.

I shuffled up and kissed his forehead.
"I won't. I promise." I wiped off the tear stains from his cheek.

Niki looped his hand around my torso and lifted me up so I was on top of him. He shuffled up towards the headboard to get in into a better position. I laid on top of him, my head tucked under his chin as he held me close. The steady falling of his chest rocked me up and down like a lullaby. I touched his cheek to see if was crying again. He wasn't. So I went to draw my hand back.

"Don't." He whispered.

And I continued stroking his cheek until I felt his breathing slow down and I drifted off with him.

When I woke up the next morning, I found that in the middle of the night, Niki had somehow shuffled downwards and now his head rested against my stomach and he was hugging my torso. I could pry his hands off me only after so many tries. When I finally did, I scooted away from him and got down the bed. I almost spit out a laughter when I saw half of his legs dangling down the bed. This giant...

I bent down and kissed his head making him hum in his sleep.

"Baby?" I whispered and he hummed.

"Come up a bit." He gave no response.

I nudged his arm and he hummed again.

"Go up Niki. You'll fall down."

I gave him a little push upwards and he climbed up the space in his sleep. How cute.

Now the bigger quest. Searching for my glasses. My glasses were really thin rimmed so it was nearly impossible for me to see them on colorful surfaces. I went to the night stand and thankfully it a creme color. A little squinting gave away the reflection of my glasses. Greeting them like an old friend, I put them on.

The world is beautiful. I thought to myself and looked at the time. 8 AM.

Pretty early for most of the boys. They must be sleeping till now. In the bathroom I saw what I was wearing. A white tshirt that was perfectly oversized for me, resting right above my thigh and a pair of black pants. The way this was also perfectly oversized was a suspicious. But I guess they were just loose fit for Sunoo. I could totally see him wearing these.

My hair looked like a bird's nest and my spare rubber band was in my bag. I tried to tame it as good as possible. There must be a comb at the vanity. I went out after freshening up and set my hair at the vanity. When I was sure it looked good enough, I decided to go out. Taking one last look at a sleeping Niki, I went to the living room.

Jay was already up and looking through his phone while sitting on the couch.

"Morning, Jay." I called.
