Dreams weren't sweet for anyone in that house. Most boys themselves had dark flashbacks filled with visions of blood and mangled body parts along with echoes of cracking bones and screams.
Specifically, Heeseung heard voices in his head telling him to go crazy, to look for new ways of torture just to kill that man over and over again. The voice praised him for listening. Or more like not listening to the pleas and cries of the man on the floor in front of him. It always ended with the voice declaring him as the best boyfriend in the whole world as he stood over the dead body.
There was someone else who heard a similar voice in their sleep. But this time it had a very different tone. The tone was Leah's. She cooed at Jay as he broke a man's face with his bare hands. She would beg for him to come closer and claim her as his.
And then Jay would see Leah cowering in a corner. Her eyes fixated on the bloody mess at his feet. She would back away from him when Jay approached her. And each time, it ended with him forcefully kissing her. Going as far as to fucking her right in that bloody mess of a room. All the while asking her if he did well and telling her how much he loved her. All the while, she would have her eyes glossed over with tears as she called him a monster.
These nightmares woke him up in cold sweats. The disgust he felt towards himself was borderline maniac. The urge to both check up on her and stay far away from her ate him alive for the rest of the night that he couldn't fall asleep.
While in the other room, Leah herself would wake up feeling the phantom of a filthy touch on her body. The first time it happened, she had woken up calling for Heeseung and Jay, just like she had that day. Sunghoon and Sunoo had tried their best to calm her down and get her back to sleep.
From then on, she started to hold her cries in once she was aware of her surroundings to not wake them up. And it worked for quite a while when her anxiety went unnoticed. Until the almost inaudible alarms that Sunghoon had set for every two hours to check on her started ringing. Even in half asleep state, he had scolded the shit out of her for not waking him up. And then proceeded to apologize for scolding her.
When each of them woke up the next morning, no one gave any hint of the sleepless night they had spent. Or anything that they saw in their dreams. Because whatever had passed had passed already. And their full focus was on getting themselves back on the normal track.
In the same mindset, three days passed. Leah's condition seemed to be getting better. She still did not talk much. But whenever she did, it gave immense relief to all of them. They watched movies, played games, and talked about all kinds of things around her.
Though at the same time, they trudged carefully around her. She had become quite jumpy to any sort of noise. They needed to remind themselves all the time to announce their presence before entering the room to avoid any possible jumpscare for her.
But the good thing was, she hadn't had a panic attack for almost thirty hours now. How they knew the exact time was because of Sunoo. He was starting to keep a record of her behavior throughout the day and the duration of any attack she got, coupled with full details of what triggered her. He shared the information with her doctor daily to receive a green signal regarding her health condition.
Heeseung finally felt like that things were falling back into place. She was going to recover soon. He just needed to wait for the right time to talk to her. At the moment, he was sitting on the couch with Sunoo and watching Leah.
"Very good, love. You're doing so well." Sunghoon cooed at her.
She had managed to complete a five-step mark without faltering. Sunghoon held her outstretched hand like he had for the past two days. She winced a bit at her eighth step and Sunghoon swooped her up with a cheer.
