Avery
1 Week laterI'm starting to think I should've gone to the police station and filed a report. I still have no clue who would've taken my engagement ring, much less the chest that holds no value. Even the pictures and documents inside are all replaceable.
It's the principle that someone did it and thinks they got away with it.
I'm not completely clueless on the matter. I've had this theory for a couple days, but I haven't acted on it, in hopes I'm wrong. There's no way he's been right under my nose this whole time and I haven't noticed.
Because if I find out Rafe Cameron is behind all of this, it'll be his last day to walk this earth.
I mean, who else could it have been? He kept asking about my family and everything else. He knew about the chest and probably snooped through my things one of the nights he's stayed here.
All signs point to him and that scares me.
I make my way through Abbie's house, taking in all the lavish decor and fixtures. She didn't go with Elijah's choice, and went with the Ocean Front Resort. Apparently this was the downgrade. How is a resort a downgrade?!
Either way, I'm already looking into buying Elijah's pick because I refuse to let Abbie show me up. I was here first!
Then again, Abbie has become the talk of the town since buying this house. No doubt about to be swarmed with fake friendships and business proposals.
Pushing open their bedroom door, I come to a dead stop when I realize I should've knocked.
I also have a front row seat to how she got pregnant again.
Leaning against the frame, the movement catches Derek's attention. We lock eyes and I expect him to stop or I don't know.. Freak out, but he doesn't. He just keeps pounding into Abbie with a smile.
"Did you need something, Aves?" Oh. He had a better idea. There's a strangled moan, before Abbie starts to fight against his hold trying to sit up. I shrug, keeping my eyes focused on him and not where they're reconnecting as husband and wife.
"Just came to steal your wife away." I watch Abbie struggle for a minute, before Derek shifts his weight and presses her shoulders further into the bed.
Looking back up with Derek, I smile sweetly. "I can wait. Seems like you need all your focus to finish up here." Not only is this embarrassing Abbie, I just poke the bear and the growl that follows tells me it worked.
He slams into her three more times before his stills with a curse and Abbie's muffled screams fill the air.
The second he releases her and pulls out,she swings around, using both hands to cover her. Literally watched her get fucked into the bed and this girl still cares about her modesty.
"What is your problem?!" Abbie shrieks, jumping up from the bed. "And you?!" She swings to me. I cock up an eyebrow, ready to get this over with so we can get on with our day. "Haven't you ever heard of knocking?!"
Rolling my eyes, I push up off the doorframe, giving her my back. "Let's go, Hale. I don't have all day." I head towards the girls nursery, finding Hope wide awake and Haidyn still fast asleep. I swear that girl would sleep her life away if we'd let her.
Picking up Hope, I go into their closet and shuffle through their outfits. Normally I would complain over the lack of uniqueness for each girl, but they look so cute in their matching outfits. Plus, they're one.. we can get away with this for a few more years.
Hell, this time next year we'll have the girls and another set of twins to dress up. Abbie may seem to find all the downsides to all of this, but I'm focusing on the blackmail I'll gain for the years to come.
