Avery

"I need your help." The doors to Abbie's library flies open, as Derek steps in, closing them behind him. Stefan and I share a look, sitting our books down.

"Who? Because Stefan and I tend to not share the same views on things?" I can practically hear Stefan's eyes roll, making me smile.

"Damon's in love with Abbie and I'm pretty sure she's in love with him." Stefan and I share a look, where he subtly shakes his head. Clearly he's not comfortable talking to Derek about this, so he's telling me to.

"Avery, dont." Stefan warns, telling me I've taken a little too long to answer and I shouldn't keep Derek waiting. So I turn back to Derek and smile. "I'm going to hold your hand when I say this." Derek's brows pinch together, his face blank of any emotion.

"Avery."

"I understand this is news to you, but the rest of us have known for some time now. Can I ask what finally clued you in?" Stefan throws his hands up in the air, before closing his book and watching Derek carefully.

Derek's jaw ticks, his eyes narrowing before he sighs, shifting on his feet. "I just overheard them in our room. He said he wants more with her and Abbie said she didn't want that, but I know she was lying. She also kissed him and didn't deny that she fantasized about him when he mentioned hearing her."

I nearly choke on my own tongue, cursing myself for not being in the room when Damon said that. I just know Abbie was beet red and stumbling over her words. Damon knows I love to see Abbie all flustered and embarrassed. Leave it to him to deprive me of that one little thing.

"I think you should have this conversation with Abbie." My head snaps to Stefan. "Fuck that!" I scoff, slamming my book shut, tossing it on the table and standing up. "I've been waiting for this day since she brought Derek home. The last thing I'm going to do is let her deny it and prolong this even more."

I head over to the bookshelves, searching and pulling the books I'm looking for. "What are you doing?" I grab one off the shelf before turning to face Stefan. "Obviously finding him examples. I can tell him how this should go, but it'll be easier if he reads it himself." Looking at Derek, I smile. "Abbie has a particular taste in books."

Turning back to the shelf, I move around collecting all the ones I know are perfect for this. "What is she talking about?!" Stefan sighs, both of them watching me as I pull book after book. "Something that's going to get us all killed when Abbie finds out." I hum, smiling because he's right. Abbie would kill Stefan and I in a heartbeat if she found out.

"If you're going to do it, then make sure you're getting the right ones. Reverse Harems aren't going to work. They require three or more. You need the why-choose."

Damn.. he's right.

Sitting the stack I have on the shelf, I pull the few that require more men. When I'm sure I have a good variety of them, I carry them over to where I was sitting and place them on the coffee table in front of it.

"These will give you the answers you need. Stefan and I can answer any questions you have, but clearly Stefan has more knowledge on the subject." He flips me off, shaking his head as he stands up. "Abbie's going to kill you."

"Yeah? Well she can do that after she's been spit-roasted." Turning back to Derek. "Happy reading. I'll make sure the kids don't bother you." I leave him in the library, going to find the kids, knowing they're probably destroying the house by now.

I find Stefan searching for a movie for the kids, while Abbie and Damon are in the kitchen, acting as if nothing has happened. If what Derek said is true, I can't wait to see how all this turns out. I think Damon would give it a try, but Abbie will be all stuck up about it. It's going to take a lot of convincing to get that girl on board.
