"No." Ellie said, sitting in the bed as her wounds healed, my mother and father by her side. "You, you are lying, he can't be, he can't be dead, Arthur." It was just the four of us, or the five if you count Regis. 

"I'm sorry, El." I said, looking down, all teared out, my eyes were too dry now to cry anymore. "I really am, I did what I could, but it wasn't enough." She started to cry more and more with each passing second, it hurt me to watch, but I understood.

"I was so mean." She said, causing a confused face to appear on my parents and I as we tried to understand, they were holding back more tears as well, but I could see that my mother wanted to continue crying, but was trying to be strong for El.

"What?" I asked, looking at her, sitting down at the edge of the bed, so I could see her a little better.

"I spoke to him on the battlefield, I was a total jerk." She said, wiping a tear away. "I basically told him that I hated him, and at the time, I did, I truly did, but if he was truly a vessel for Agrona, I, I don't even know what to say."

We all went silent, understanding her pain, I hated him as well, I truly did, but it wasn't normal hate, it was more of a loving hate. "Come here." My mother said, pulling her into a hug. "Just know that he loved you, he loved all of us, he did this for all of us."

"He did." My father told her, running a hand over her head. I just sat there, watching, knowing that there wasn't much I could do for her, I couldn't help with the pain she was feeling. "He loved us all."

Ellie just continued crying, wiping the tears onto my mother who looked like she was in as much pain as Ellie. I wonder how it's going with Sylvie, I felt the children come into Taegrin Caelum, so something must be going on down there in the lab.

I really, really hope it works, it will solve everything, stop this pain from growing more and more with each passing second. I also don't know if we can survive without him, I know he had a plan, and I haven't heard it all, but could it really save us.

"Why don't you two give us some time?" My mother said, looking at my father and me. "I think Ellie needs to rest a little, I'll stay in bed with her while she does, go, go be with the Twin Horns and Tessia."

"You sure?" My father asked. "I'll stay with you."

"It's fine." She answered, then waved to us to leave. "I'll handle it, don't worry." I could see the tears falling from her eyes as she spoke, but she continued to stay strong, trying to at least, but at those words, I did as she wanted and got to my feet with my father and left the room.

In the hallway were the Twin Horns and Tessia, their eyes went to us as we entered the hallway. "Art." Tessia said, stepping up to me with teary eyes as well. "Is it true what they said? Did something happen to Veer?"

"Yes." I answered her, pulling her into a hug, embracing her into me as the Twin Horns gathered around us. 

"My son..." My father started, looking at the Twin Horns as I kept my arm around Tessia's waist as she stood beside me. "My son is dead." Their eyes widened in horror, knowing that something happened to him, but not something like that. "He was killed by Kezess, but for so many different reasons."

"Oh my." Helen said, covering her mouth. "I knew you said something happened, but this, it can't be true." I didn't know how to respond as she covered her mouth and wiped her tears, the Twin Horns broke down in tears, but Tess, beside me, she laughed.

"Haha." It wasn't a normal laugh, more one of shock as she thought about Veer. "Ha, I, I slapped him the last time I saw him, I slapped him." She smiled, shaking her head as she thought about it. "I slapped him, and now he's, he's dead, Arthur."
