We plan on attacking in the next couple of days, there's a lot going on, Wraiths going in and out of Taegrin Caelum, people running all over, preparing for the battle that was about to go down. I can't say that I was exactly happy about seeing these Wraiths all the time, they weren't my allies, they were simply a tool right now.
If it wasn't for Virion, I would most likely be fighting them right now, I don't know, but I shouldn't be complaining right now. They are useful, powerful, and we needed them to defeat the asuras, without them we stood really know chance in a straightforward battle.
"What are you doing up here?" I asked my sister as she stood on the top of Taegrin Caelum, it was a battlefield, or training field I should say. "Taking in the scenery?" There were large mountains all around us, the scene was beautiful.
"Yeah, and simply thinking." Ellie answered me. "Raven showed me this spot the other day, it's relaxing, so I've been coming up here to think about things when I could." I nodded, standing beside her now as we overlooked the mountains, not looking at one another.
"You worried about the battle?" I asked, trying to figure out what was on her mind. She's been a mess, same with my mother ever since Virion's death, and now, well, Sylvie and Tessia both became a little worse, knowing that Virion hasn't woken up, or came back to life I should say.
"No." She answered. "I look forward to it, I can release some anger." I laughed a little, from what I heard, she was a force of nature on the field against the hamadryads, it made me proud to think about. All she ever wanted was to be strong like that, and now she was. "I was thinking about Virion, how he made all of this possible, and we simply, I don't know, ignored it."
"Yeah." I said, agreeing with her as I thought about it. "I think about that too, he did so much in the shadows that we didn't even know about, making us hate him, for his personal goal of saving us, it's weird, but there's nothing you can do about it, El."
"I know." She said, nodding her head as she leaned it into me, her horns almost pressing into my side, but didn't. "I just wish I could speak to him one more time, I miss him, Arthur, even though he did so many terrible things for us, I miss him."
"I do too, El." I said, holding her close to me as we stood there together, one sibling short. "We have to follow through with his plan, this way, he didn't die for nothing." As I said this, a sudden aura exploded, then faded, and by Ellie flinching, she felt it too. 'Regis?'
'I felt it.' He responded. 'That wasn't Raven, I've gotten used to her aura exploding out when she got pissed at Selena for something. I don't think a Wraith could make you feel something like that either, so I don't know.'
"Arthur, did, did you feel that?" Ellie asked, stepping back from my side as her eyes went to mine. "That wasn't a normal aura, that was, that was extremely potent." I agreed, the killing intent, the power, it was too much for any normal human.
'Sylvie, did you feel that?' I asked my bond, then spoke to Ellie as I waited for a response. "I just asked Sylvie, I'm going to have her check in on it, I'm sure it's nothing." I had my suspicions, but I didn't want to assume, I couldn't, if I did, I would get her and my hopes up for nothing.
'Yes.' She answered, her tone within my mind filled with both curiosity and excitement. 'It was down in the lab, Arthur, in the lab with Vkrion's corpse.' My eyes widened at those words. 'I'm heading down there now.'
'Be careful.' I said, not knowing what was going on. 'We don't know if he is going to be right in the head, that is if it is him, and he is back.' She sent me a mental nod, not even responding, wanting to get down there as fast as possible.
