Sylvie Indrath

"This is why." My mother said as I moved slightly to the side, looking at Arthur with a worried expression. "You can't control your abilities, Virion shouldn't exist, this timeline is unstable and will shatter this world if we don't do anything about it."

"No!" Arthur shouted again, the ground beneath him burnt to ash, and that's when Cadell stepped in front of my mother. "Fate is lying to you!" He conjured blades in both of his hands. "There's no way the world would be in danger because of us, this is all because it didn't get what it wanted!"

"Poor child, too naive to see that he's wrong." She told me. "You must die, all of the anomalies, it's the only way, I'm sorry, child." She paused for a second, then added. "Fate isn't something you can run away from."

'Arthur.' Regis said within our mental connection, but as he went to continue, I could tell Arthur blocked us both out. 'Sylvie, I can't calm him, I can't connect with him right now, he's losing it.'

"Calm down, please, Arthur, get back." I said, looking at him with a worried expression, but before I could do anything, Arthur shot forward, his swords connected with Cadell's. They stared at one another for a second or two, then Arthur vanished and appeared behind the Scythe.

My mother just watched, but then her spell knocked Arthur away, moving him away from us, and as Arthur slid to a stop, Cadell shot after him, leaving me alone with this woman, my mother, my supposed mother, I couldn't be sure right now if this is actually her, even if it, well, it most likely is by Arthur's reaction.

'Watch your back.' Regis told me. 'I'll take care of him, Sylvie, you focus.'

'Thank you, Regis.' I said to him as I looked up at my mother who was smiling at me. "Mother, stop this, you should listen to Arthur." I told her, but she didn't respond, she just continued to smile at me.

"Again, you poor child, you don't see the big picture." She told me, and I didn't know what to say, there was no big picture. "If you join me, I can show you, we can show you, you should understand by now that the only reason I would do this, would be if it was for the greater good."

"Killing your daughter, a boy you raised as well, I don't see the greater good in that." I told her, shaking my head, bringing mana to me, knowing something felt off with her last movement. "That's bullshit mother."

"Maybe, but don't you get it, there are more of you two out there." She said, and my eyes widened at the coldness, and then as I blinked once, she appeared before me, a blast of mana hit a shield I conjured and sent me flying backwards.

Earth and ice shards started colliding with my mana shield, the spells just continued to come at me as she looked at me, giving me no time to respond or even react with a counterattack. The force of her attacks were large, I needed to focus mana on the shield, or it was going to break down.

Fire collided with it next, shaking me and the shield, knocking me back, pushing me away from her. She was strong, it makes me wonder how she died to Cadell, she was on a whole other level, well, I guess she just gave birth to me, at least if I remember Arthur's story correctly.

The spells continued to hit my shield, I started to build up mana in my legs, preparing to shoot away from the shield as it started to crumble down, I could feel it, the shield was going to collapse any second now.

The shield fell and I shot out, avoiding the ice strikes, conjuring a mana blast and shooting it at my mother, but she simply waved her hand, and the mana dispersed. "Dear, you can't defeat me." I heard her say as the three spells she had conjured turned back to me as she adjusted them. "You are too weak."
