Cecilia
I then added water scythes, and they sliced them up, but there were just so many to deal with. The rest had shown up, and now, there were more getting over the edge, making it tougher on us to keep this up, I could feel Eleanor slipping up as well.
She was still going though, conjuring crystals upwards into their stomachs, knocking them back and destroying their bodies. I kept my spells going, but the ground below us started to shake, and that's when I noticed that the skeletons below were chipping away at it, trying to knock it down so we would fall into the center of this force.
I started to rebuild the parts that they were chipping at, making sure they couldn't do what they wanted down there. We needed to figure out what to do here, otherwise, we might not make it out of this alive.
I could see more coming this way, adding to the two hundred thousand that were already around us swarming to get up here. I could leave them and start unleashing spell after spell down there, but then Bairon would be wide open for attack, I had to stay here.
My spells continued to shoot into the skeletons, destroying them one by one, or in waves, I started using mana all around the platform, helping out the others. Nico was doing fine, but Eleanor was not, she was weakened too much from earlier fights that there's hints of fatigue every once in a while were her mana cuts out.
My wind currents cut skeletons in half in front of her, my eyes started to dart around, making sure everything was okay, I didn't need any more surprises to happen. I also wanted to go and help Virion, but I couldn't because I had to protect his sister.
I couldn't be the reasons he died, but at this rate, even as I replenish and use mana, I'll run out of mana before I take out this horde that continues to grow beneath us. I could try to open up a portal to another zone, but I don't think it'll work, whatever or however we got here, it was different than before.
I don't think it'll simply let us leave, I felt for the mana and manipulated aether with it, hoping to get out of here, but nothing happened. It was just as I expected, I won't be able to leave this place with them without Virion's help.
He needs to take care of business, otherwise we might die down here. Bairon was on his last breath, Aya was crippled in pain, Eleanor is tired, Nico is Nico, and I can't sustain this forever, but I'll do my best to keep them all alive.
My mind started to race with ideas, but none of them were going to work, so all we can do is wait for Virion to do his thing and hope that he kills Arthur and Sylvie, which is so weird to think about.
I guess it all makes sense though, but there's nothing I can do about it from here. I pushed the stones outwards, knocking the ones climbing over, giving us a breather as they started climbing once again as the platform reformed back to its regular state.
"Cecilia." Eleanor said, and as I looked at her, I could see that she was breathing heavily. "We can't do this forever, can you raise the platform to buy us some more time?" I nodded, doing what she wanted, it was a good idea anyways.
I just didn't want to go too high, if we need to run, well, I guess we won't be running anywhere with the large amounts of skeletons under us. The platform grew a little, and as it did, I could feel the skeletons at the bottom chipping away at the stones, I did what I did last time, knocking them away, but they were just going to continue doing that.
As we stopped, and the platform stood still, no longer rising up, I stepped over to Bairon and Aya, my eyes going to the Lance on the ground, unconscious, not moving. "He's going to die." Aya said plainly, looking up at me. "We need Virion."
