"RUN!" Mia yelled, and as the shelves swayed precariously andmore glass spheres began to pour from above.

She seized a handful of Hermione and Harry's jumpers and dragged them forward, yelling in pain as chunks of shelf and shards of glass thundered down upon them, catching her pale face. A Death Eater lunged forward through the cloud of dust and Mia elbowed him hard in the masked face. They were all yelling, there werecries of pain, and thunderous crashes as the shelves collapsed upon themselves, weirdly echoing fragments of the Seers unleashed from theirspheres.

Mia found the way ahead clear and Luna, Ron and Neville sprinted past her, their arms over their heads. Something heavy struck her on the side of the face but she merely ducked her head and sprinted onward; a hand caught her by the shoulder; she heard Hermione shout "Stupefy!" and the hand released her at once. They were at the end of row ninety-seven; Mia turned right and began to sprint in earnest. She could hear footsteps right behind her and Harry and Hermione's voice urging Neville on.

The two groups ran and ran until they crashed into each other in the middle of the rows.

"Come on!" Mia yelled, "get back to the door!"

They made no hesitation to sprint back down the rows, dodging Death Eaters and falling bits of glass. Mia reached the door first, she opened it and stopped when she looked down, but the others didn't. They all fell down, screaming. Two red energy balls appeared at Mia's hands as she floated mid-air. She looked at the others and a red glow appeared around them as they slowly went onto the ground. Mia smiled lightly as she floated back down to the ground, landing in between Harry and Ron.

"Department of Mysteries," Ron said as Mia looked at him. "They got that bit right, didn't they?"

"Mia. . . ."

Mia turned around, her blue eyes darting around as they went red.

"Did you hear that?"

'Mia, Mia. . . . come."

"What?" Harry asked, looking at his sister.

Mia looked around and her eyes landed on something opposite her. There wasa raised stone dais in the center of the lowered floor, and upon this daisstood a stone archway that looked so ancient, cracked, and crumbling that Mia was amazed the thing was still standing. Unsupported by any surrounding wall, the archway was hung with a tattered black curtain or veil which, despite the complete stillness of the cold surrounding air, was fluttering very slightly as though it had just been touched.

"Mia, no one said anything," Hermione said, her voice filled with anxiety as Mia kept her blue eyes on the veil.

"Mia. . . ."

Her footsteps echoed loudly as she walked slowly toward the dais. The pointed archway looked muchtaller from where she stood now. Still the veil swayed gently, as though somebody hadjust passed through it.
