Mia Potter was the other Potter. Looking almost identical to her mother, she was a force to be reckoned with. But there was only one person who could reckon with her, and his name was Draco Malfoy.

"See you later Hagrid!"
The two girls had come back to Hogwarts a few days after New Years, and had made it a priority to go visit Hagrid. The two girls were pink-faced with their hats, scarves and gloves on as they hurried back to the Gryffindor Common Room when they saw Harry, Ron and Ginny there.
"Harry! Ginny!" Hermione said as they rushed over to them.
"We got back a couple of hours ago, we've just been down to visitHagrid and Buck. . . . I mean Witherwings," she said breathlessly. "Did you have a good Christmas?"
"Yeah," said Ron at once, "pretty eventful, Rufus Scrim. . . ."
"I've got something for you, Harry, Mia's already got hers," said Hermione, neither looking at Ron nor giving any sign that she had heard him. "Oh,hang on, password. Abstinence."
"Precisely," said the Fat Lady in a feeble voice, and swung forward to reveal the portrait hole.
"What's up with her?" asked Harry.
"Overindulged over Christmas, apparently," said Hermione, rolling her eyes as she led the way into the packed common room."She and her friend Violet drank their way through all the winein that picture of drunk monks down by the Charms corridor. Anyway . . ."
She rummaged in her pocket for a moment, then pulled out ascroll of parchment with Dumbledore's writing on it.
"Great," said Harry, unrolling it at once to discover that his nextlesson with Dumbledore was scheduled for the following night."I've got loads to tell him, and you two. Let's sit down but first. . . ."
But at that moment there was a loud squeal of "Won-Won!" andLavender Brown came hurtling out of nowhere and flung herselfinto Ron's arms. Several onlookers sniggered; Hermione gave a tinkling laugh and said, "There's a table over here. . . . Coming, Ginny?"
"No, thanks, I said I'd meet Dean," said Ginny, though Mia could not help noticing that she did not sound very enthusiastic. Leaving Ron and Lavender locked in a kind of vertical wrestlingmatch, Harry led Mia and Hermione over to the spare table.
"Mia," he said as his sister looked at him with a cold look. "Nothing I can do will ever begin to describe how sorry I am for all the horrid stuff I said to you. You mean everything to me, you are my little sister and I wanted to destroy myself knowing I did that to you. You were right, I let my own selfish thoughts get in the way and I'm truly sorry. I got you something for Christmas, I'm not expecting you to keep it, but I wanted to give it to you in person."
He handed Mia a small black book. She opened it and furrowed her eyebrows.
"It's a memory book," he said as she looked through the pages, "it's never ending and it takes all your favourite memories and puts it in a visual form."
Mia's eyes watered as she noticed about 95% of the book was just her and Harry.
"You are always my favourite," he said, "I'm just glad you're not a memory." Mia smiled as she hugged her brother tightly.
"Thank you," she said smiling as Harry grinned and hugged her just as tight. The trip sat down together.
"So how was your Christmas?"
"It was good," Mia said, a grin on her face as she looked at her brother as Hermione nodded.
"How was it at WonWon's?"
"I'll tell you in a minute," said Harry. "Look, Hermione, can't you. . . .?"
"No, I can't," she said flatly. "So don't even ask."
"I thought maybe, you know, over Christmas. . . ."
"It was the Fat Lady who drank a vat of five-hundred-year-oldwine, Harry, not me," she said as Mia laughed.
"Did Mia tell you what happened with Snape and Malfoy?" he asked as she nodded.
"Do you think. . . ." Hermione began.
". . . .he was pretending to offer help so that he could trick Malfoy into telling him what he's doing?" Harry asked.
"Well, yes," said Hermione.
"Ron's dad and Lupin think so," Harry said grudgingly. "But this definitely proves Malfoy's planning something, you can't deny that."
"No, I can't," she answered slowly.
"And he's acting on Voldemort's orders, just like I said!"
"Hmm . . . did either of them actually mention Voldemort's name?"
"No," Mia said as Harry looked at her. Hermione stared across the room, apparently lost in thought, not evennoticing Lavender tickling Ron.
"How's Lupin?"
"Not great," said Harry, and he told her and Mia all about Lupin's mission among the werewolves and the difficulties he was facing. "Have you heard of this Fenrir Greyback?"
"Yes, I have!" said Hermione, sounding startled. "And so have you, guys!"
"When, History of Magic?" Mia asked confused. "You know full well I never listened. . . ."
"No, no, not History of Magic, Malfoy threatened Borgin with him!" said Hermione. "Back in Knockturn Alley, don't you remember? He told Borgin that Greyback was an old family friend and that he'd be checking up on Borgin's progress!"
Harry gaped at her.
"I forgot! But this proves Malfoy's a Death Eater, how else could he be in contact with Greyback and telling him what to do?"
"It is pretty suspicious," breathed Hermione. "Unless . . ."
"Oh, come on," said Harry in exasperation, "you can't get round this one!"
"It could have been an empty threat," Mia said.
"You're unbelievable, you are," said Harry, shaking his head."We'll see who's right. . . . You'll be eating your words, Hermione, just like the Ministry. Oh yeah, I had a row with Rufus Scrimgeouras well. . . ."
"What the fuck?" Mia asked. And the rest of the evening passed amicably with all three of them abusing the Minister of Magic, for Hermione, like Ron, thought that after all the Ministry had put Harry through the previous year, they had a great deal of nerve asking him and Mia for help now.
