AN: hi guys! happy monday!

so just a quick one, i will not be updating on the 7th october because i will be in italy for my little brother's birthday🕺🏻

until then enjoy family bonding and one last case with the BAU next week before our girls are truly in their mom era with henry after the break!

"We're home!"

Delilah kicked the front door shut behind herself and JJ, pushing the luggage out of the way as she heard dog paws, kitten claws, and human footsteps hurrying towards them from every inch of the house.

She spotted the dogs first. Shadow leapt off the stairs towards them, bounding straight to Delilah. Delilah laughed, crouching down to stroke him. Stella walked over to JJ more calmly, sitting in front of her. JJ laughed, stroking Stella softly. She stood up again, rubbing her nose over JJ's stomach.

"Lilah!"

JJ laughed as Ziggy practically jumped over Shadow to land on Delilah, sending her onto the floor. She laughed, wrapping her arms around her nephew and nearly squeezing the life out of him.

"I missed you!" Ziggy said. "How was it?"

"We missed you!" Delilah said. "It was amazing. You can come with us, next time. A family holiday sounds nice, huh? A week by the pool?"

"It sounds great!" Ziggy said.

Delilah laughed, running her hands through his hair.

She could see Mason hugging JJ, her arms wrapped tightly around him. He was smiling up at her, nose scrunched sweetly as she brushed a few strands of hair out of his eyes and asked him something that he nodded along to.

She could also see Liv, Nora and Colin hovering in the foyer waiting for the moment they could say hi. Emily and Dave were in work, but Delilah knew they'd be back for dinner time.

The boys had only just finished school, and Liv had worked an overnight so she could be here when Delilah and JJ got home.

Ziggy got off Delilah after a moment, and Mason untangled himself from JJ. The two of them essentially swapped which woman they wanted to say hi to.

Mason grinned down at Delilah, holding a hand out. She took it, letting him help her to her feet. She wrapped him into a hug when she was up, running a hand over his hair before tapping her finger under his chin, lifting his head up to meet her eyes.

"You okay?" Delilah asked.

"Yeah," Mason said, giving her a smile. "You?"

"Yeah," Delilah said, matching his smile. "We missed you."

"I missed you guys," Mason said.

"We'll catch up properly later, yeah? You can tell me how all your clubs have been going, tell me how school and your grandma have been," Delilah said.
