The Weight of Water (Lee Know)

The annual JYP Entertainment celebratory pool party was one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. Held at an exclusive luxury venue, it was a night where idols from all different groups came together, some familiar faces, some not-so-familiar, but all equally excited for a few hours of fun and relaxation away from the demanding schedules. Music industry professionals, staff, and the whole affair buzzed with energy. This year, the pool party was even bigger than ever, with idols from all over the entertainment world invited to celebrate in a relaxed and carefree atmosphere.

Stray Kids had just finished an explosive performance earlier in the evening, their choreography sharp, their energy high. The adrenaline from their set still flowed through them, and they were eager to unwind. The hot, summer night air was perfect for the poolside event, and Lee Know, with his usual infectious energy, was ready to make the most of it.

As the night went on, Stray Kids mingled with artists from other groups. Bang Chan, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin were scattered around, talking and laughing with other idols from various companies. Lee Know, true to his nature, was always the center of attention. With his sense of humor, dancing skills, and charm, he was more than happy to interact with anyone who would listen, whether they were from JYP or other agencies.

But there was something in the air that night. The excitement of mingling with other idols was palpable, but there was also an undercurrent of tension. As Stray Kids wandered through the venue, they saw faces they didn't recognize, idols they'd only heard about or seen in passing. It wasn't a bad feeling, just unfamiliar. The pool was the centerpiece of the event, glowing under soft lights, and Lee Know found himself drawn to it as the night wore on. He was, however, content to stay on the sidelines, leaning against the stone edge and watching others splash around. He wasn't one for the water—at least, not tonight. He preferred to keep his clothes dry and enjoy the festivities from a distance.

As the party continued, Lee Know found himself surrounded by a few JYP idols he had been chatting with earlier. Laughing, joking, and exchanging stories, he didn't notice when someone suddenly approached him from behind. His attention was diverted, his focus on his current conversation, and in that split second, the push came.

A sudden, forceful shove from behind sent Lee Know reeling, his feet stumbling as he lost his balance. His arms flailed instinctively, but there was nothing to grab onto. He didn't even see who it was. The last thing he felt was the rush of air and the sound of a splash before the world around him turned into a blur of blue.

Water. Cold, cold water engulfed him, and for a brief, panicked moment, Lee Know couldn't comprehend what had happened. His body hit the water with an ungraceful splash, and the force of the impact sent a sharp jolt of pain through his spine. His head submerged instantly, and the coolness of the water stung his skin like icy needles.

It only took a moment for the panic to hit. His body instinctively tried to kick and thrash to the surface, but something was wrong. His mind, still disoriented, couldn't understand what was happening. He gasped for air, but all he inhaled was water. It filled his lungs, burning his chest, and his heart raced in fear.

Panic tightened its grip around him, and his body began to fight against the water's weight. He tried to push upward, but the pool was deep, and the water seemed to keep dragging him further down. He kicked desperately, his arms reaching out, but he could barely get a glimpse of the surface. Every second felt like an eternity. His chest burned, and his vision blurred, the bright lights of the party growing distant. The sounds of music and laughter seemed so far away, and his attempts to scream for help failed. His throat was too tight, and he couldn't find the strength to call out.
