The filming set was alive with a contagious buzz of energy. Bright studio lights reflected off gleaming countertops in the makeshift kitchen, casting a warm glow over the room. The aroma of various ingredients—some savory, others downright puzzling—began to fill the air as the staff scurried around, setting up for the day’s variety show challenge. Laughter and chatter resonated across the set, the members of ENHYPEN already slipping into their usual lively dynamic as they gathered to listen to the host’s enthusiastic explanation of the day’s activity.
It was a cooking competition—classic variety show material—but with a twist. Each team had to create a dish using a random assortment of "mystery ingredients" handpicked by the show’s staff. The promise of both hilarity and questionable culinary outcomes had everyone in high spirits.
“This is it,” Ni-Ki declared dramatically, stepping forward and brandishing a wooden spoon like a sword. “Today, the world will witness my genius.”
“More like your ability to set a kitchen on fire,” Sunghoon quipped, smirking as he ducked to avoid Ni-Ki’s exaggerated swat in response.
Jake laughed, shaking his head at the exchange. “Let’s just agree not to send anyone to the hospital, okay? That’s the real win here.”
The staff divided the members into teams, and luck—or perhaps fate—placed Ni-Ki with Jake and Sunghoon. Their team was quickly christened “The Underdogs” by the host, who teased them for their apparent lack of culinary experience. Unbothered, the trio leaned into the challenge with a mix of enthusiasm and chaos, their voices blending into the lively symphony of activity around the kitchen.
“Alright,” Jake said, scanning the mystery ingredients laid out before them. “We’ve got soy sauce, chocolate, shrimp, and... is this durian?”
Ni-Ki clapped his hands together, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “Perfect! I have a vision.”
“Your vision better not involve poisoning anyone,” Sunghoon muttered, picking up the durian with a skeptical expression.
Undeterred, Ni-Ki began delegating tasks with the confidence of a seasoned chef—or at least someone who had watched plenty of cooking shows. Jake manned the stove, Sunghoon was on prep duty, and Ni-Ki took charge of “creative direction,” much to his teammates’ growing concern.
“Soy sauce in a dessert?” Jake repeated, raising an incredulous eyebrow as Ni-Ki stirred the concoction with gusto.
“Trust me, hyung,” Ni-Ki said, grinning from ear to ear. “It’ll be revolutionary.”
“Revolting, maybe,” Sunghoon muttered under his breath, though the corners of his mouth betrayed a smile.
As the clock ticked down, the kitchen transformed into a whirlwind of movement. Ingredients flew, pans clanged, and laughter echoed through the room. By the time the challenge ended, the once-pristine counters were a war zone of flour, sauce splatters, and discarded utensils. The members stood back to admire—or, in some cases, mourn—their creations, each team presenting a plate that could either be a masterpiece or a culinary disaster.
The judges, a trio of brave MCs, began the daunting task of tasting the dishes. The members crowded around them, watching their reactions with bated breath. Some bites elicited nods of approval, while others prompted dramatic coughs and cries for water, much to everyone’s amusement.
Ni-Ki, ever the adventurous eater, made it a point to sample every dish. His face was a kaleidoscope of expressions—delight, surprise, and, at one point, barely concealed horror. When it was time for his team’s creation to be judged, he eagerly took the first bite, his eyes lighting up.
