D1 had always been the type of person who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. As the main dancer, main vocalist, acrobat, sub-rapper, and center of DKB, he felt the responsibility to perform for his group with both grace and perfection. Every performance, every interview, every practice was a reflection of his unwavering commitment to his members and their fans. He had always been the one to stay strong for everyone else, but little by little, the cracks in his armor began to show.

For months, D1 had been receiving harsh online comments about his appearance. He had always been confident in himself, but now, every glance in the mirror felt like a painful reminder of the negativity. Fans commented on everything from his weight to his posture, claiming he wasn't good enough for the image of a perfect idol. Even when he tried to shake off the comments, they crept into his mind and gnawed at him until he felt like he was no longer enough.

The perfectionist in D1 told him that he could fix it. If he worked harder, if he lost more weight, if he pushed himself further, he could silence the voices. He could prove everyone wrong. It was the only way to make the pain go away.

So he worked tirelessly, skipping meals, waking up early to practice, and staying late into the night refining every move. His knee, which had been bothering him for weeks, protested with every turn and leap, but he ignored it. He couldn't afford to rest—not when they were so close to their next comeback.

The comeback preparations were intense, and D1 knew the group was depending on him. He was their hyung—he couldn't afford to let them down. As the pressure mounted, D1 spent more and more time in the practice room, perfecting every detail. His members noticed, but they said nothing. They knew that if D1 said he was fine, he was fine. He was always fine.

One evening, as the rest of the members left for the night, D1 stayed behind. The practice room was empty except for the sound of his feet hitting the floor and the music blasting through the speakers. The pain in his knee was becoming unbearable, but he pushed it aside. He needed to finish this one last routine.

He could feel his body starting to give way, the exhaustion creeping in, but his mind wouldn't let him stop. He couldn't stop.

"Hyung, you're still here?" Harry-June's voice broke through his thoughts. D1 hadn't even noticed that the maknae had returned to the practice room.

"I'm fine," D1 said with a strained smile. "Just a few more things to finish up."

Harry-June looked at him, eyes narrowing with concern. "You're working too hard. Don't forget to rest, okay?"

"I will," D1 promised, though he wasn't sure if he could. There was no time for rest.

Harry-June stayed a few more minutes, watching D1 with a worried expression, before leaving. Alone again, D1 continued practicing, each movement becoming slower and more labored. His knee burned, and the exhaustion weighed heavily on him, but he wouldn't let it stop him.

The following day, during the group's rehearsal for a live showcase, D1's fatigue began to show. He stumbled through the opening sequence of a new choreography, tripping over his own foot and knocking into one of the other members. The sudden impact sent both of them crashing to the floor, the sound echoing through the practice room.

The room went silent, and D1's heart dropped into his stomach. He quickly scrambled to help the member up, his hands shaking. The other member—E-Chan—was fine, but D1 couldn't stop apologizing.

"I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry," D1 repeated, his voice strained with guilt.

"It's okay, D1," E-Chan said, brushing himself off. But the concerned glances from the other members lingered. They could all see that something was wrong.
