The practice room was tense. The usual lighthearted atmosphere that surrounded TREASURE’s rehearsals had been replaced with a heavy silence. Junghwan, the maknae of the group, stood in the corner, his arms crossed and his face tense. His usually bright demeanor was nowhere to be found. Instead, he wore an expression of frustration, his sharp eyes fixed on the floor.

Jeongwoo, standing at the front of the room with his back to the others, didn’t notice the way Junghwan’s gaze darkened. He was too busy organizing the choreography, focusing on perfecting every step. But the tension in the air didn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the members.

Yoshi, ever the observant one, shot a glance at Junghwan, who still hadn't moved from his corner. "Junghwan, you good?" he asked, his voice quiet yet laced with concern.

Junghwan’s gaze flicked up for a moment before he nodded stiffly. "Yeah. I'm fine," he muttered, though his tone was anything but convincing. He tried to avoid looking at Jeongwoo, who was still too absorbed in the practice to notice his discomfort.

Jihoon, sensing something was off, exchanged a look with Hyunsuk, who nodded in agreement. The two of them had been keeping an eye on Junghwan ever since the practice began, noticing his withdrawn behavior and the occasional glances he would throw at Jeongwoo.

The argument between Jeongwoo and Junghwan hadn’t started today—it had been brewing for weeks. It wasn’t just one thing that had caused it, but a series of small, hurtful remarks and misunderstandings that had been piling up. Junghwan had felt increasingly ignored by Jeongwoo, who seemed to be more focused on his own performance and the expectations of the others. The comments Jeongwoo made about Junghwan’s stage presence, though meant to be constructive, often felt more like criticism to Junghwan. He wasn’t a child, yet he felt like he was being treated as one—constantly being told how to improve without anyone asking him how he felt.

The last straw had been this morning when Jeongwoo had commented on Junghwan’s dancing, stating that he needed to “put more energy into it.” The way he said it, as if Junghwan had been slacking, cut deeper than Junghwan cared to admit.

Now, standing in the corner of the room, Junghwan’s frustrations were reaching their peak. It was hard for him to hold back anymore. But he couldn’t say anything—not with Jeongwoo being the way he was, always acting like he knew what was best.

At the front of the room, Jeongwoo continued directing the members, his focus unwavering. He was completely unaware of the emotional storm brewing behind him.

Finally, Junghwan could take it no longer. "Why do you always have to act like you're the only one who knows how to do things right?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension in the room.

Jeongwoo froze. He turned around, eyes wide with surprise. "What?" he asked, his brow furrowing in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Junghwan took a deep breath, his fists clenched. “You never listen to me, Jeongwoo-hyung. All you ever do is criticize and never acknowledge the effort I put in.” His voice cracked slightly, but he didn’t back down. "It's like you think you know everything, but you don’t. You don't even see how hard I’m trying."

The other members exchanged uneasy glances, unsure of how to intervene. Hyunsuk, ever the leader, stepped forward. “Junghwan, calm down—” But Junghwan didn’t listen. He couldn’t.

“No, I’m done,” he spat, his eyes wild with a mix of anger and hurt. “I’m not your little project to fix, Jeongwoo. So stop pretending like you’re the only one who knows how to do this. I’m not a child!” His voice had raised to a shout by the end of the sentence, and the room fell silent. Everyone stood still, unsure of what to do next.
