A Leader's Burden (Kamden)

Kamden had always been the type to take charge, whether it was during practices, performances, or the more chaotic moments in AMPERS&ONE's hectic schedule. As the leader, rapper, and main dancer, he had learned the importance of staying composed, providing a sense of calm for the other members when things went wrong. He took on the responsibility for the well-being of the group, and while he often carried that weight silently, his resolve never wavered. But that day, as he watched Seungmo struggle underwater, Kamden realized how easily everything could change.

The group was buzzing with excitement, the photoshoot for their upcoming album teaser was going to be like nothing they'd ever done before. The concept was daring and artistic—an underwater shoot. The members had been briefed beforehand, but the reality of the large tank filled with water, the ethereal lighting, and the flowing outfits was surreal. There was a slight tension in the air as the group prepared for what would be a challenging shoot.

Seungmo, the Maknae, looked uneasy. His eyes kept darting toward the water, his body stiff with apprehension. Kamden, ever the protector, noticed right away.

"Seungmo, you alright?" Kamden asked, pulling the younger member aside as the staff set up the tank.

Seungmo smiled nervously, trying to mask his fear. "Yeah, just... I've never done something like this before. It's a bit nerve-wracking, you know?"

Kamden gave him a reassuring pat on the back. "You've got this, okay? And we're right here. Just focus on the shoot and relax. If anything goes wrong, we'll take care of it."

Seungmo nodded, though his hands were trembling slightly. Kamden glanced over at the other members, who were all occupied with their own tasks—Jiho and Mackiah were making small talk, while Brian and Siyun were running through their choreography. Kamden took a deep breath, steadying himself, before looking back at Seungmo, who was now being helped into his costume. It was a dramatic ensemble—long, flowing fabric that was meant to swirl in the water, creating an otherworldly effect.

Seungmo was the first one in the tank. The water was cool, the clear surface giving way to the ripples of movement as he swam gracefully beneath the surface. The others stood at the edge, watching as Seungmo adjusted to the weightlessness of the water. The light shimmered off his costume, casting a soft glow around him.

For a moment, everything seemed perfect.

But as the photographer directed Seungmo to move into position, Kamden noticed the younger boy's movements became erratic. Seungmo's legs seemed to twitch uncontrollably, and his body jerked as if he were tangled in something.

Kamden's heart skipped a beat.

"Seungmo!" Kamden shouted, but his voice was swallowed by the tank's water. Panic flashed across Seungmo's face as his body began thrashing wildly. Kamden's instincts kicked in immediately, and he dove into the water without hesitation.

Bubbles rose from the surface as Kamden's body sliced through the water. He reached Seungmo within seconds, seeing that the younger member's pants had become caught on a metal bar at the bottom of the tank. Seungmo was pulling and kicking, desperately trying to free himself, but it was only making things worse.

Kamden gripped Seungmo's shoulders, trying to steady him. "Seungmo! Stay calm," he tried to shout, though his voice barely made it through the water. Seungmo's eyes were wide with fear, his arms and legs flailing erratically because of lack of air. His legs kicked out again, this time connecting sharply with Kamden's ribs.

Kamden winced in pain, feeling something sharp crack in his side. But he refused to let go. He clenched his teeth, focusing all his energy on untangling the fabric from the bar. Seungmo's frantic movements weren't helping, and Kamden felt a sickening pain shoot through his chest as another kick from Seungmo connected with his ribs. This time, Kamden felt himself sinking, the pain almost unbearable.
