Jisung had always been the light of NCT, his infectious energy and quick wit making him a favorite amongst the members. But lately, something had shifted. The constant tension among the group had made him feel like he was walking on eggshells, unsure of how to act around his own members. It started with small misunderstandings, moments where words were said in the heat of the moment, but those small cracks began to form into deep fissures.
One night, it all came to a head. They were rehearsing for an upcoming concert, their voices blending in perfect harmony when Jisung felt something snap inside of him. It was a small comment—an offhand remark about his choreography—that felt like the last straw. He snapped back, his words sharper than he intended, and suddenly, the whole room was silent.
No one spoke for a long time. It wasn't just the tension; it was the unspoken things that had built up over time. The members didn't know how to fix things. Some avoided him, unsure of how to address the issue; others remained silent, unable to find the right words. And just like that, Jisung was left alone, standing in the middle of the studio with his heart pounding, trying to process the sudden shift in their dynamic.
Days passed in a similar silence. The once lively group was now filled with awkward glances and unspoken words. Jisung, feeling isolated, retreated further into himself. His messages went unanswered, and every time he tried to reach out, he was met with indifference. His once-constant source of comfort, his members, had become strangers.
But something even darker was brewing. In the midst of his emotional turmoil, Jisung began receiving messages that made his blood run cold. The first message was simple: "You're not good enough. I'm watching you." It was vague, unsettling, and Jisung tried to brush it off as a fan's misguided attempt at attention. But then the messages began to escalate. The threats grew more explicit, more violent. "We know where you are. We know what you're doing." Each message made Jisung's stomach twist with dread.
At first, he considered telling someone, but he quickly dismissed the thought. The last thing he wanted was to make his already strained relationship with the members even more difficult. He didn't want to burden them with his fears when they were already so distant. He convinced himself that it was just a prank, something that would blow over in time. But with every passing day, the messages only grew more threatening.
One evening, after a long day of rehearsals, Jisung collapsed into his bed, the weight of the threats and the isolation finally taking their toll. He buried his face in his pillow, trying to block out the noise of his thoughts. It was only when his phone buzzed again that he lifted it, his heart sinking as he read the latest message: "You're going to die."
The words hit him like a punch to the stomach. His breathing grew shallow, his hands trembling as he tried to process the message. He glanced around the empty dorm room, the silence suffocating. He should tell someone, he knew that. But fear, shame, and pride kept him quiet. So, he swallowed his fear and tried to forget about the message, ignoring the way his heart raced in the back of his mind.
Days turned into weeks, and the threats kept coming. Jisung pushed them aside, trying to focus on the upcoming concert, but it was getting harder to pretend everything was fine. The members still hadn't spoken to him like they used to. They were polite, distant, and the air between them felt suffocating. The only thing keeping him going was the thought of performing on stage—his chance to do what he loved in front of a crowd who appreciated him.
The night of the concert arrived, and despite the dark cloud that hung over his heart, Jisung couldn't help but feel the adrenaline course through him. The crowd's excitement, the lights, the music—it was all so familiar and comforting. For a brief moment, he felt like himself again.
