Yeosang had always been the quieter member of ATEEZ, his gentle demeanor often leading fans to call him “the angel of the group.” It wasn’t a title he particularly sought, but he cherished the love his fans showered on him. The other members teased him about how easily he trusted people, but Yeosang simply laughed it off. To him, the world wasn’t as scary as everyone made it out to be.

The group’s comeback preparations were in full swing, their schedules packed with endless rehearsals, photoshoots, and interviews. Despite the stress, they all managed to keep their spirits high, especially Yeosang, whose focus on perfecting every detail never wavered.

The new makeup artist, Minji, had been assigned to the team a few weeks ago. She was meticulous in her work and seemed genuinely invested in ensuring the members looked their best. But it was her attention to Yeosang that stood out. She always went out of her way to compliment him, bringing him small snacks and drinks, and lingering a little too long when applying his makeup.

“She’s a fan,” Wooyoung joked one day during a break. “She’s obsessed with you, Sangie.”

Yeosang waved him off, a faint smile on his lips. “She’s just nice.”

“Too nice,” San muttered, earning a nudge from Yunho.

The others teased him harmlessly, but deep down, some of them felt uneasy about Minji’s fixation on Yeosang. Still, they didn’t want to make a big deal out of it—after all, it wasn’t uncommon for staff to have biases among the members.

One late evening after a grueling rehearsal, the members were ready to head back to the dorms. Yeosang, however, lingered behind, claiming he needed to fix something with his stage outfit.

“Don’t take too long,” Seonghwa called over his shoulder as the others left. Yeosang waved in acknowledgment, assuring them he’d be right behind.

As the members left the building, Minji approached Yeosang in the practice room.

“You’ve been working so hard,” she said, holding out a bottle of what looked like a sports drink. “You need to take care of yourself, Yeosang. Here, this will help with your fatigue.”

Yeosang hesitated for a moment but then took the drink with a small smile. “Thank you, Minji-noona.”

She watched as he took a few gulps, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction. Within minutes, Yeosang felt an odd sensation. His vision blurred, his limbs felt heavy, and his head spun. Panic set in as he tried to speak, but his words came out slurred.

“Noona... what’s happening?”

“Shh,” she whispered, catching him as he stumbled. “Don’t worry. I’m taking care of you.”

Yeosang’s world faded to black as Minji guided him out of the building and into her car.

Back at the dorm, the members were unwinding after their long day. They noticed Yeosang’s absence but assumed he was taking extra time to practice or fix his outfit.

“He’s such a perfectionist,” Mingi said, stretching out on the couch.

“Yeah, but it’s getting late,” Jongho remarked, glancing at the clock. “Shouldn’t he be back by now?”

Hongjoong frowned, pulling out his phone to call Yeosang. The call went straight to voicemail.

“That’s strange,” Hongjoong muttered.

“Maybe he’s still at the building?” Yunho suggested.

San and Wooyoung volunteered to check, but when they arrived at the practice room, it was empty. Yeosang’s bag and jacket were still there, but there was no sign of him.
