The filming location was breathtaking—a vast forest sprawling across rolling hills, dotted with streams and canopies that filtered the sunlight. For Seventeen, it was the perfect backdrop for an adventure-filled day.

The members laughed as they stepped out of the vans, adjusting their jackets against the crisp morning air. DK bounded ahead, his bright smile a beacon for the group.

“Team-building scavenger hunt,” the director explained, holding up a laminated map. “You’ll be split into small groups and tasked with finding items hidden along marked trails. Stay on the paths at all times—it’s easy to lose your way out here. The staff will be monitoring you, but use the buddy system and keep your radios on.”

DK, ever the optimist, clapped his hands. “I was born for this. Let’s win!”

Hoshi rolled his eyes playfully. “You’re going to get us lost with all that confidence.”

“Relax,” DK shot back with mock indignation. “I have a great sense of direction!”

Jeonghan leaned over to Joshua. “I’ll bet ten minutes before DK does something reckless.”

Joshua chuckled. “You’re being generous.”

DK was paired with Hoshi and Dino, a trio that seemed destined for chaos. Their assigned trail was a winding path flanked by towering trees, the ground covered in soft moss and leaves.

The scavenger hunt started smoothly enough. DK took the lead, scanning the map with exaggerated focus. “Left here,” he declared, turning confidently.

“Are you sure?” Dino asked, skeptical.

“Trust me!” DK replied, already a few steps ahead.

Despite Hoshi’s grumbling, they managed to find their first clue tucked into the hollow of a tree. Spirits high, the group pressed on, teasing one another about who was the weakest link.

It wasn’t long before DK’s energy got the better of him. He spotted a glint of something shiny through the trees—a possible shortcut to their next clue.

“Guys, look!” he exclaimed, veering off the trail without waiting for a response.

“DK!” Hoshi shouted, exasperated.

“I’ll meet you at the checkpoint!” DK called back, his voice fading as he disappeared into the dense foliage.

Dino sighed. “Should we go after him?”

Hoshi shook his head. “If we chase him, we’ll all get lost. Let’s stick to the plan. He’ll catch up.”

DK’s shortcut quickly turned into a dead end. The shiny object he thought he saw was nothing more than a patch of dew-covered leaves glinting in the sunlight.

“Great,” he muttered, turning back the way he came—only to realize that every direction looked the same. The trees seemed taller now, their shadows stretching ominously as the sun dipped lower in the sky.

“Okay, no problem,” DK said aloud, forcing a smile. “I’ll just retrace my steps.”

But as he moved, his footing slipped on a slick patch of moss. He fell hard, twisting his ankle painfully beneath him.

“Ah!” he cried out, clutching his leg as tears pricked his eyes. The sharp pain made it clear that walking would be difficult, if not impossible.

For a moment, panic surged. He was alone, injured, and far from the trail. The chirping of birds and rustling of leaves felt oppressive now, the forest’s once-beautiful silence mocking him.
