Siuanloves to create plans. But can she find a solution to the tricky situation?

The Cairhien woman fought hard not to close her eyes. She was so tired, and being in Lan's arms felt so good. Siuan was still stroking Moiraine's hair and cheek. But where was Alric? What was the other Warder doing?

Carefully, the woman of the Blue Ajah moved her head until she could see Siuan and her Warder standing beside the bed. She didn't trust the man at the moment.

"Easy, love. Alric won't do anything." The Tairen woman turned her head toward her Warder, glaring at him. "Right?"

"I simply tried to-"

"You made a terrible situation worse by speaking without thinking."

"Look at Lan, Siuan! The man is heavily injured! I know Moiraine wants to help him, but her plans only make it worse for him!"

"Well, your plan isn't a solution either. So, let's start thinking about a new one."

Growling, Alric rubbed his hands over his face. "There is no plan. We can't move Lan without increasing his pain. He would never make it out of Tear. And you can't heal him."

Thoughtfully, Siuan bit her lower lip. "Our camp lies outside of Tear, and we have some Yellow Sisters with us. If we get Lan there, they could heal him."

Her Warder shook his head. "But we won't get him there, Siuan. Lan can't ride in his condition. He would never make the trip."

Silence fell over the room while the Amyrlin thought about other possibilities. She had stopped stroking Moiraine's hair, though her hand stayed on Moiraine's head while her thoughts were running. "Lan can't ride," she repeated slowly. "But what if he doesn't have to ride?"

Confused, Alric furrowed his forehead. "And how do you suggest he should get to the camp? He also can't walk out of here, and Moiraine and I can't carry him there."

"What if we drive him to the camp?"

The Warder's eyes widened when he finally understood the suggestion of his bonded Aes Sedai. "You think about a wagon."

"Exactly."

Anxiously, Alric started to walk up and down, mumbling something inaudible before he finally stopped. "That could work. But I still can't carry him down on my own. And the innkeeper won't let them leave when a Healer has already been involved."

Moiraine saw her lover licking her lips. Siuan loved making plans. "Some sisters in the camp have their Warders with them. Together, you should be strong enough to get Lan downstairs."

"You and Moiraine can't be seen together," Alric objected immediately.

A frustrated growl escaped the Amyrlin's lips, and she turned to Moiraine. Since she had become the Amyrlin, everyone believed that the two former pillow friends couldn't stand each other anymore. No one knew that they were still working together.

"All right. So, I can't stay here." She sighed heavily. "Which means I need to return to the camp before anyone sees me here." Siuan faced Alric again. "Once we're back with the other Aes Sedai, you can go to the Warders. You could tell them that you found Moiraine and Lan. If you tell them about Lan's injury, they will help you."

Alric nodded slowly. "It could work." His eyes fell on the window. "But we have to hurry before the Healer returns. Healers are as stubborn as a mule. She won't let us move Lan with such an injury."
