I signed up for the Ice Skating Club.

Sinabihan ako ni Sarah na next week pa raw ako makakapagsimula. Sa kasalukuyan nakapokus lang muna ako sa pag-aaral. But I usually give up on the first paragraph of a textbook.

Tinawagan ko ang parents ko at kinamusta nila ako. I told them about the usual stuff but I didn't mention the Hansen boys. Baka magpanic kasi sila na puro lalaki ang kasama ko sa iisang bahay. I don't want them to worry about this and take me away from this school.

It had always been my dream to study in Aestheria.

May mga taong napapatingin sa prosthetic leg ko habang naglalakad ako sa pasilyo. I'm wearing a jumper shorts, a sky blue sweater with an artwork of a cloud, a lowcut converse, and striped socks. My brown hair is tied into a bun with strands hanging from the side of my face.

I used to think I look good with what I wear but people just notice my weird-looking leg.

Naputol kasi ang kanan binti ko noong bata pa lang ako. Hindi ko na maalala ang nangyari pero sinabi sa akin ng magulang ko dahil sa naganap na aksidente ito. I don't remember a thing or how it happened. I just woke up one day with a missing leg.

"Alam niyo bang binenta niya 'yung binti niya?"

"Serioso? Bakit niya ginawa 'yon?"

"Para mapansin siya ng mga Hansen boys."

I rolled my eyes as I walked pass the group of girls gossiping about me.

Lumabas ako ng building, pababa na ako ng hagdan ng masilayan ko si Austin sa may college building. May kausap siyang babae, she's giggling while tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

They started walking away from the building while holding each other's hands and laughing.

It must be Austin's girlfriend.

Nakarating ako sa library at nilibot ang paningin ko. I took a whiff scent from the dead trees in piles of books. Gahd. I love that smell, it's my high and sky.

If a mass genocide of trees bring pleasure to our stimulus and nostrils, I think it's worth it.

Umupo ako sa may library para makapagbasa ng libro ko. Tyler is sitting across me from another table. He's writing on his notebook... with my 12th ballpen he borrowed from me.

Nagkasalubong ang amin mata. Tyler bit the cap of the ballpen while staring at me intently. I'm drowning in his alluring grey eyes.

Napaiwas ako ng tingin.

Nagpokus lang ako sa paragraph na binabasa ko. Pinipilit na ipokus ang atensyon ko. But damn it! I get easily distracted because of these Hansen boys!

I took a quick sneak peek just to see if he's still staring. Binaba ko ng kaunti ang libro ko.

Ngumisi si Tyler sa akin. Naramdaman ko ang pagkabog ng puso sa dibdib ko.

Hindi ko na lang siya pinansin nang tumayo siya. Naglakad siya papalapit sa table at umupo sa tapat ko. Napalunok ako dala ng kaba.

"Anong binabasa mo?" His voice was deep and husky.

Huminga ako nang malalim.

"Soldier of Love."
