Chapter 80

Home

Charlotte

"They have been kidnapped! Goddamn it!"

"I'm sorry, miss. If you can't tell us their names, you need to send us the address instead."

All I could do is let them know their home address and see the wreckage of their house, in some way, it would give them the motivation to help and find the Hansens once they saw the aftermath.

It took me a while to get back to where we started and to where it all ended. The place that made me feel at home and now it's gone.

I glanced back and forth down the streets with empty houses, most of them are out on the holidays and the rest are too far away to even hear me scream from here.

Even though it wasn't my home, it felt like I grew up in this place.

I shook my head. It's not the time to feel sad. I still have to find these Hansen boys and bring them back.

But I can't wait forever for the police to come. I need to take matters in to my own hands.

I've never rode a bicycle this fast in my entire life. It felt like I'm on a race against time, to beat it before the Hansens disappears.

Nakarating ako sa Detour Lane, the same old neighborhood with broken sidewalks and street lamps, broken families, and houses on the verge of collapsing. The condition here didn't improved the last time we went here. It keeps getting worse.

"State your business." One of the guards commanded.

"I'm here for Timothy Spike."

"Oh, it's the girl." Napalingon ako sa nagsalita.

It's Cris, the mechanic girl with an undercut. She's fixing a motorbike outside of the warehouse with her crew so she immediately spotted me outside the fence.

She dropped her tools on a box, wiped her greasy dirty hands on a ragged cloth, then she walked towards me.

Cris is wearing an overalls with smudges of black grease from the motorbike. She crossed her arms between her chest when she stopped right in front of me.
