"Hey. Jules. Jules. Hi. Hello. Julianna. Jules. Verbally poking you. Julianna. Wake up. Jules, wake up. Julianna! Wake up! Jules! Yo, Cuz, your rooms on fire!"

Julianna sat bolt upright, eyes wide with surprise. "Wha... where? Who... huh?"
"Over here. In the mirror. Oh, and your rooms not actually on fire, so you can calm down."

Julianna turned to the mirror, and jumped in surprise.
Maddie waved cheerily. "Hello!"
"How the fuck are you in my bedroom mirror?" Julianna hissed.
Maddie chuckled. "Thank Nyx for that. I'm actually still unconscious in hospital, but I'm temporarily borrowing my reflection. I don't know, ask Nyx. So, hows Cody?"
"Absolutely going nuts without you. But how... huh... why... how are you here?"

Maddie shrugged. "Mirrors aren't difficult to navigate, apparently. I don't really know the dynamics. It's a bit like portals, actually. Except more like a window than a gate. So, how've you been?"

Julianna stuttered for an answer.
"Wha... who... how've I been? How've you been, more like! You've been fricking unconscious for a year!"
"Yes, and it's incredibly boring. So, how are you?"
Julianna flopped down on the bed. "I don't believe this. You're in a coma for a year, and you're not even fazed."
"Oh, I was plenty fazed. I just got over it quicker. Oh, and another thing, could you maybe do me a favour and keep this between us? For now."

Julianna lost it. "No, I can't 'just keep this between us'!" What about your parents? The Clave? Your son? Yeah, what about Cody, your other child? I'm not babysitting him forever, I'm not his mother!"
"Yeah, I have to go now. Just don't tell anyone, at least till I come back." Maddie smiled happily. "Great to see you, Cuz. Be back soon. Bye."

And she disappeared, leaving a shell-shocked Julianna.
