Travis crept on silent feet towards the gate. Peering at the bars, he swore.
"Someone's chained it shut!"

Evelyn groaned. "Shit! They probably did that after I escaped!"

Nick craned his head back, peering at the top of the tall, spiked fence. "I may be able to climb over. I also may accidentally skewer my hand, or worse, but I may be able to climb over."

Travis squinted up at the fence top. "There's no way you can get over that without castrating yourself."
Nick snorted. "My super vampire ninja powers say otherwise."

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "Stop being such children! Nick, if you think you can, do, just don't do anything Rachel will murder me for later, dragur or not. Travis... Any idea how to bust open the lock, either from our side or his, once he gets over?"

A second later, Nick touched down on the other side, peering through the bars, grinning cheerily.

Evelyn rolled her eyes again. "Or now that he is over."

"Hey, I could bust into the house, try to find a key or bolt cutters or something."
"That's definitely a no. Not on your own." Said Evelyn immediately. "We can't deal with another dragur infection or risk you getting killed. There are demons in that house, remember?"

Travis sighed. "Bolt cutters. Why didn't we think to bring bolt cutters?"

Evelyn nibbled her lip nervously. "Okay, alright. Nick, change of plan. You are going into the lab alone. Do you have a phone?"

"Yes. Do you need my number?"
"Yes. We're going to keep in contact, I'm going to direct you."

"Bit like in a spy movie?" He said with a grin.
Travis gave him a look. "Alright, Nickolas Bond, pay attention. I'm not pulling your ass out of the fire if you get molested by demons. Mostly because I can't get through the gate."

Evelyn once again drew their attention. "Right, so I'm going to direct you, and we're going to get this gate open."
