Laying down the law

Sebastian reacted on impulse, half slapping, half shoving Alysha away with such force, she hit the ground with a smack!

She grunted in pain, springing up onto the balls of her feet and hissing through her teeth at him. "You'll pay for that!"
She swung the dagger at him, but he caught her wrist, deflecting her aim.
She snarled. "Let go!"
He ignored her, instead trying to control her flailing arms.
She kneed him in the stomach.

Taking advantage of his sudden gasp of pain, she sprinted for the back of the cave, only to be tackled and her back forced against a stalagmite, the knife forced out of her hand onto the floor.

They glared into each others eyes, neither blinking.
A muscle twitched in his jaw.
Her top lip curled up in a silent snarl.

"Who the hell are you?" He growled. "Where's my Nyx?"

"Your Nyx? Please, in what way is she yours? I mean, you've only known her, what? Barely over half a year, I think. And you should know, some pity on her side, the need for companionship on yours, and meeting in the middle over some making out, does not make a relationship."

She grinned wickedly, enjoying the effect her words were having on him. In that moment, her sole goal was to see what it would take to make him snap.
Really snap.

She blew out a breath, purposefully into his face, messing up his hair and making him blink.
"Aww, you're cute when you get that look. That desperate, lost child look."
He glared at her, eyes like voids.
She chuckled. "And hot when you get that one. Dark and dominating. Mmm." She licked her lips.

Seconds later, she twisted out of his grasp, slamming him against the wall and flicking her knife up into her hand with her foot.
"But I'm not falling for it. Men, ugh. They always think they can best me. Always think they're better than me. Always think they rule me."
She leant in close. "Well, the only person who rules me is me."
