"Look, Mads, I'm sorry but I've been a bit... off my head recently." Nyx said, rubbing her eyes exhaustedly. She was so tired, she could barely keep her eyes open. "Look, can you do me a favour? Go to my mum, or one of my siblings, or heck, Evelyn Mater will do. Go to them, and say that Alysha broke into the institute, hijacked the portal and now Nyx is stuck in Idris, by Lake Lyn."
"Why?" Maddie asked.
Nyx rolled her eyes. "So they can hold my tea up." She said sarcastically. "So they can sort out a damn rescue before the Clave gets involved! Because I'm pretty sure they'll section me if they hear about this. Please, just go."
Maddie shrugged. "Alright." She faded into the glassy surface.

Julianna came back, all in a puff. "Nope, faerie girl's gone. Damn it. How did she do that? There aren't that many places to go!"

"Only the Caves of Reflections." Muttered Nyx. "Which is only bad if she works out how to navigate them. Even then, she's probably not much of a threat."

"Huh? What's that?" Julianna said, only partly hearing Nyx. "The Caves of Reflections? What, that legend thing that Clary and Co tried to convince the Clave was real, and under Lake Lyn, only to have them unable to find it? They gave us some fucking spiel about how Maddie had been there when she went into labour. I don't know what they were on about, but the fact that they couldn't even give us a straight answer about what made Maddie like that..."

Nyx chuckled darkly. "Funny how you probably could believe them if the Clave didn't categorically tell you it was false. I mean, the word of a handful of teenagers versus the word of the Clave..."

Sorry if it's a bit weird. I'm not completely happy with it myself, but it'll have to do.
