Reacting on instinct

It took all of three seconds for Alysha to break to the surface, tearing through the ropes like plasticine and practically wrenching the door off it's hinges as she raced down into the street, moving so fast her feet seemed to barely touch the ground, as if she were flying. Magnus and Evelyn raced after her, but soon fell drastically behind, watching Alysha disappear from sight.

Her whole demeanour shifted as she ran, becoming something wild, untamed, predatory and dangerous.
Her eyes shifted kaleidoscopiclly through a spectrum of colours; acid green, burning yellow, flame red, midnight black.

She wasn't thinking, wasn't feeling. She was running completely on instinct.

Rachel. She could feel Rachel. Scent Rachel. Taste Rachel.

And then she saw Rachel.

Backed up in a corner, she was grappling with the beast, holding it off with all the strength she possessed as it snapped and snarled at her face.

Alysha let out a yell. "HEY!"

The creature peeled itself away from Rachel, slinking menacingly towards Alysha. It growled low.

Alysha growled back, teeth bared threateningly, stance defensive and cat-like. Her eyes seemed to glow with unnatural light.

It charged, hurling itself through the air towards her.
Alysha dived, rolling out of the way. "Shit, no weapons."
She looked at the shell-shocked Rachel. "You alright?"
Rachel managed a nod.
"Good." Alysha said in a calm, business-like tone. "When I say run, run that way, okay? RUN!"

They charged out into the street, the creature charging after them, Alysha keeping steady pace with Rachel.
"Down here!" Alysha hissed, shoving them into a back-alley littered with broken glass.

Suddenly, Rachel yelped as her legs were pulled from under her. The creature tore into her ankle, blood splattering the pavement. She screamed, as the creature savaged her, kicking at it's face and tearing at it with her nails.

Suddenly, with a yell, Alysha buried a massive shard of glass in the creatures skull, killing it.

Silence ensued.

She helped Rachel up. "I'm so sorry. Didn't realise it was so close."

Hey, can you do me a favour? Tell me if the music attachment is working, I'm having some issues over here.
