Confessions

Nyx awoke with a splitting headache, to find herself tied up on Magnus's sofa.
She squinted at Evelyn, who was staring at her worriedly from across the room. "Holy crap, what was that?"
"Magnus hit you with a chair. I'm sorry. But which one of you am I talking to?"
"Uh, Nyx."
"How do I know?"
"The fact that the ropes are actually restraining me. If I were Alysha, by now they'd be broken and you'd be in serious danger."

Evelyn thought about it. "Good point."
"Soooo... will you untie me?"

"Not yet, no. Not until I'm sure."

Nyx glared angrily at her. "Seriously, let me go! This is like... kidnapping or assault or something! For fucks sake, I'm not Alysha! Alysha's the little voice in my head screeching at me to shut up and let her handle it! Which I'm not going to do, because I have no desire to be responsible for murder! So for fucks sake, bloody untie me before I loose control!"

Evelyn shushed her kindly. "Look, I will in a minute, once Magnus is back. I'm really sorry, I don't want to do this, I really don't."
Nyx collapsed limply on the sofa, all the fight gone from her. "I know. I understand. She's fucking crazy." Nyx giggled softly. "Hey, maybe I'm crazy. She's my craziness."
Evelyn tentatively touched her shoulder in an effort to comfort her. "You're not crazy."
"Pretty sure I am, actually. She's me. I'm her. She's crazy. I'm crazy."
Evelyn fished for an answer to that. "I'm not sure..."
"I like being her."

Evelyn blinked in surprise. "What?"
"I. Like. Being. Her. I hate it as well, but I can't help but like it. She's so... strong and powerful and everything I'm not. And I feel her as a part of me, and... it is me. And I like it."
She turned her face away slightly. "I'm a mess, aren't I?"
