"Now, Cody, you have to be very careful when holding Abby because she's very delicate. Do you understand?" Nyx asked.
Cody nodded.
Nyx sighed, scooping up Abby and holding her in her arms. "Now, Abby, this is your big brother, Cody. Wave hello?"

Abby waved her pudgy little hand, squealing at him. "Hi! Hi! Hi, hi, hi!"
Cody grinned. "Hi! Hi, Abby!"

Abby squealed with laughter, clapping her hands happily. Nyx smiled. "Arms out, Cody. That's it, like that."
She passed him the baby. Abby wriggled a little in his arms, legs kicking like she wanted to get up and run.
Nyx chuckled. "She'll be walking soon, I bet. She started crawling the other day. Headed straight for the shoe locker, mind. My boots apparently make good toys."

"You spend way too much time mooning over that baby."
"Shut up. I don't have time for this right now."
"Au contraire, you have the perfect opportunity for this right now. The kids keeping Abby entertained, mummy dearest and the three amigo's can watch them, and we can go do something fun."

"Now I'm worried. What do you class as fun?"

"Nyx, you alright?"
Nyx looked down into the worried face of Cody. "Yeah, sorry. I just spaced for a minute."

"I know! We should hunt down our sexy boyfriend and ask him to take us out somewhere!"
"Maybe... Not right now."

"Oh, come on! I want to be officially involved already! You always get to do the fun stuff."

"He's not 'our' boyfriend, he's just barely my boyfriend! And... it's too complicated at the moment."
"Yeah but... I'm the fun one! I mean, you're the nice, lovely, relationship-y one, which is good, but... come on! Our love-life's vanilla at best! Just trust me for a while! I promise, only fun this time. No ulterior motives."

"Cody, do you want to get some ice cream in the park with me and Abby?"
