Dec almost jumped out of his skin when a familiar hand came down on his shoulder whilst he sat enjoying a drink at the bar.
Alysha grinned wickedly, smirking at his expression. "Oh, come on. You had to know I'd be back. So, what have you got for me?"
"Uh... Not a lot. In fact, everything's gone pretty quiet."
Alysha raised an eyebrow sceptically. "This true or are you making up excuses?"
"Honest to God, it's true!" He insisted. "Everyone's suddenly toeing the line, some of the less-than-legal organisations seem to have gone off the grid completely!""Except yours?" Alysha purred, both eyebrows raised now. "Dec, is there something you're not telling me?"
"People keep disappearing." He spoke in a hoarse whisper. "It's always just one or two at once, no explanation, you just wake up and they're gone. The Clave claim they are looking into it, but there's nothing for them to find! There's no signs of struggle, no one ever see's anything... It's like they're just sucked into the earth or disappear into thin air or something. Everyone's terrified. No one knows if they're dead, or alive or what."Alysha thought for a moment. "Can you show me where someone disappeared?"
Dec shook his head. "No. I'm sorry, but I just can't."
Alysha lowered her voice kindly. "Aw, it's okay to be scared. I'd be scared too."
Dec gave her an evil glare. "I'm not scared. Not like... stop looking at me like I'm a child!""Oh, okay." She grabbed the collar of his shirt, yanking him forwards. Her voice was a harsh growl, her eyes growing dark and menacing. "Show me where they disappeared, or I swear, I will show you how to really be scared!"
Dec swallowed, trembling slightly with fear. Slowly, he nodded.
