Half an hour later, and Alysha had officially re-named herself Death-to-doorbells.
Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, ding dong, thud!

That was the sound of Alysha murdering the doorbell in frustration as no one came to answer.
Furiously, she rapped on the door with her knuckles. "Hullo? Anyone in there?"
She kicked the wood of the door furiously. "I'm sorry, I forgot the secret password, but open the fricking door before I find a way to open it!"

Needless to say, nobody answered.

Running her fingers angrily through her hair, she stormed around the side of the building to the window, crushing the overgrown flowerbed beneath her boots as she approached the window.
Someone a while back had nailed planks of timber haphazardly across the frame, blocking out the view through the glass.
Taking hold of an edge of the timber, Alysha pulled hard, an ear-splitting sound issuing forth as the wood splintered, coming away from the frame.

Tearing the rest of the wood from the lower part of the window, she revealed the grim-covered glass beneath. Taking the edge of her sleeve, Alysha proceeded to clean off a patch of the dirt, and peer inside.

The place looked deserted. Nothing moved within the room.
The pieces of once grand furniture lay scattered across the room, dirt and cobwebs covering every surface. This was hardly surprising. The place was large, and other than their living quarters, Alysha hardly expected Lilith and co to clean.

Ah well. Looks like she had no choice but to break in through here.
That was such a shame. She wasn't going to enjoy this at all.

Grinning maniacally, Alysha high-kicked the glass, shattering the pane. Picking her way over the open glass, she tumbled into the room.
All good, everything going to plan, no one heard...

A voice came from the direction of the doorway. "Look, when someone doesn't answer the door, that means go away, not please, break in."
