Rachel was walking home from some late-evening shopping, furiously dialling Nyx repeatedly as she stormed down the sidewalk. "For the love of God, pick up! Or don't blame me if you need a new toothbrush and I haven't got one!"
She furiously pressed the phone to her ear, growling in frustration as the voicemail picked up. "Hi, you've reached the voicemail of me, Nyx L'ange. This probably means I've misplaced my phone at home again, and by the time I actually get your message, it will probably no longer be relevant, but feel free to leave a message!""Young lady, if you've left your phone at home again, we will be having serious words. I hope you don't need me to buy you anything whilst I'm here, because if you do and you haven't told me, you'll be coming out here to buy it yourself. And another thing, missy, if I find your socks in the microwave one more time..."
A growl from the alley besides her made her jump. She trembled slightly, setting the phone back into her pocket as she gazed upon the creature.Draugr. She'd only ever faced one, and that had been in the familiar surroundings of her own home, and with the help of her family.
Now, she stared down the beast, alone and out in the open. This one was not a Werewolf, like that one had been. No, she didn't quite know what this one was.
Humanoid in shape, but that could be a variety of things. Before she could work any more out, it lunged at her, growling and snarling. She dropped her shopping bags and took off at a run, creature at her heels.
God, if only she'd bothered to seriously practice magic, she could probably defend herself effectively right now.
As it was, she was attempting to remember a spell, any spell.Meanwhile, in her pocket, her phone was still on.
