Family time

Frosty glares were exchanged over the dinner table that evening.
Nyx groaned loudly. "Alright,
Who did what to who?"
"Travis managed to break me up with my girlfriend." Growled Nick.
"Did not! I was just saying some things and she totally got the wrong end of the stick!" Travis insisted.
Nyx furrowed her brow. "You had a girlfriend?"
Selene burst out into laughter. "Oh, God, that's better than anything I was going to say!"

Rachel quieted them. "You lot, behave. Owen, thank you for setting such a good example."

Owen looked up from his plate, his mouth bulging with half-chewed food. "I'm sorry, what?"

Rachel slapped her forehead. "Teenagers. You'll be the death of me."
Nyx giggled. "If you ever die, I'm putting that on your gravestone."

"Rachel L'ange, died of teenagers." Rachel  chuckled, gesture-printing each word in the air. "1282-2016. Last words were; 'For Christ's sake, just do as I say!'. I can just see their faces now."

Travis laughed. "Well, on a completely different note, I, yes, me, I got a date."
"Cool!" Nyx said enthusiastically, trying to cover the resumed awkwardness and general dislike this topic brought up between certain people. "What's her name?"
"His name is Mark, he's a regular at the coffee house, about Nick's height, light brown hair and a collection of avengers t-shirts."

"Wait, back up a second. You date guys?"
"Nyx, do you remember when you were nine and I had a 'friend' named Tony?" Travis shook his head "Not a friend."
Nyx thought about it. "Actually, that makes a lot more sense. Well, he sounds great! I'm so happy for you!"
Rachel smiled happily. "So, before dessert, anymore dating issues anyone wants to share?"

"If he turns evil, are you still dating?"
"Real life situations, Nyx."

Funny, right? I figured we needed an update on the family.
