Unique

Rachel put her head in her hands. "Magnus, I don't know what to do!"
Magnus touched her shoulder comfortingly. "We'll find a way to help Nyx. But if it helps, I don't think she's in any danger. At least, not physically. Alysha's not going to hurt her, because she physically can't without hurting herself."

"That's not what I'm worried about!" Sobbed Rachel. "What if... Alysha comes again, and doesn't go away? What if my baby never comes back? What if she gets permanently trapped in... whatever mental prison she's stuck in? What will happen to her?"

Travis pulled out a chair, sitting next to his mother and taking her hands. "Well, Alysha's not here now, and who says she's going to come back? You know our Nyx, strong-willed as anything. Maybe she can beat her. Surely... what actually is Alysha, anyway? I'm assuming some kind of split personality, right?"
Magnus furrowed his brow. "Uh... yes. And possibly no. Not necessarily in the traditional sense. Alysha is... unique."

Rachel gave him a cold look. "Make sense, now."
Magnus visibly shrank under her icy glare. "I don't really know, I'm just repeating what Evelyn said. Though I think Alysha's stronger and definitely faster than Nyx, which is unusual because that's a physical change, rather than a mental change, which is why it's different from a split personality.  But I'm not a psychologist, so don't take my word on everything."

Travis tutted. "Shame on you, all those years you've been alive and you never trained in psychology?"
"Says the boy who's only job he ever held for more than a week was in a Starbucks."
"Hey, they paid really well." Travis said, brow furrowed angrily.
"Pai-d?" Said Rachel. "As in, past tense of pay?"

Now Travis was on the receiving end of the death glare. "Uh... I... didn't tell you I lost my job... Sorry?"

His words were cut across by a dull thud, a shout of pain, and the sound of breaking glass.
Travis whimpered. "What was that?"
Magnus raced to the front room. "I think that was Alysha knocking out Owen and jumping through the window."
