"So, how did you escape from the place?"
Evelyn swallowed nervously. "What?"
Alysha rolled her eyes. "It's not a difficult question. How did you escape from the mansion? See, I want to get into the mansion, and without your cooperation, that's going to be tricky. So come on, what was it?"

"I am not letting you go into that hellhole!" Evelyn burst out. "You're not putting yourself or Nyx in danger!"
Alysha made a shushing sound. "Ssh, calm down. You think we'd actually die if we got caught? Thanks to Nyx, we've got a pretty decent chance that someone won't let that won't happen. And besides, I can take anything they throw at me. And, if you tell me how you managed to get out unscathed, obviously reduces the risk, doesn't it?"
Alysha grinned widely, showing too many teeth. "Come on, otherwise I'm going to have to come up with another plan, and there's even less guarantee that will work. Think logically, and Magnus? Quit looking like you're about to do a runner."

She settled on the sofa opposite Evelyn. "I mean, come on. You're on my team, aren't you? I mean, look at the facts. We both want to stop this new threat, but neither of us trust the Clave to do it. We both have an attachment to Nyx worth more than our own lives. You spent years researching things no one believed you on. I can give you the answers. I'm not a bad person, and you have no reason to believe I am. So, what do you think?"

"I think your reasonings flawed."

Alysha shrugged. "Ah, well. You wouldn't have Nyx without me, but ah, well. I won't hold it against you, I respect your decision. And when you change your mind, I'll be waiting."

She rose to leave. "Goodbye... oof!"
Black spots filled her vision aa something collided with her head, knocking her unconscious.

Evelyn smiled. "Well done, Magnus. Now help me get her on the sofa."

Just so you know, it's my birthday tomorrow, so I may be unable to update.
