Owen collapsed onto the sofa, clutching an ice pack to his head. "Rach, why did you leave an extremely heavy firearm in reach of a psychopath?"
Rachel shrugged, rolling her wheelchair into the room. "To be honest, I didn't expect her to know where I kept it. I never told you lot where it was."

"That makes me feel so much better." Owen groaned sarcastically. "How'd she even get untied? Those were knots to make the navy jealous."

Travis picked up the rope. "Pure force by the looks of it. Knots can't have been that good after all. She's just yanked them undone. Look, see, the ropes shredded from the friction." He sighed. "We're going to need something stronger than rope."

Rachel held up her hands. "Whoa, hold up a minute. Think about who you're talking about. this is Nyx, your little sister, remember? You can't just talk about trapping her like some kind of animal, it's not right!"

Magnus nodded. "Yes. It's not right. She's still a person. Besides, it didn't work, and it's not going to. Alysha seems to take over in moments of fear or anger. By doing this, not only are you mistreating Nyx, but you're more likely to trigger Alysha. What we need to do, is find Alysha and find some way to... calm her down, and potentially reverse the change. Am I making sense?"

Rachel smiled her agreement. Travis nodded. Owen gave a thumbs up, face buried under the ice-pack.

Nick groaned and stumbled down the stairs. "I feel shit. What's the point of being some strong, immortal being if you still feel like hell after a wild night. What the fuck happened, anyway?"
Travis raised an eyebrow, smirking. "How much do you remember?"
"Next to nothing, which is why I'm asking."
Travis's eyes went wide. "Next to nothing?! What do you mean, next to nothing?! What the hell did you drink?!"
