Maddie appeared in the glass of Rachel's kitchen window, almost giving Travis a heart attack with fright. "Holy bejesus, what the...!"

Maddie scowled. "Hello, oh father of my child, can I talk to someone I'm not about to go into a custody dispute with, thank you very much."
Travis stared at the ghost-like form of his ex-girlfriend watching him, arms crossed, from the window glass.

He swallowed nervously, nodding his head, then charged out of the room, yelling. "Nick! Owen! Everyone! Help! There's a... and she... I think Maddie's haunting me! Guys?!"

Nick was the first down the stairs, eying his friend suspiciously. "What the hell...?"

Travis pointed to the kitchen, forgetting he until now had awkwardly avoiding Nick until he could sort out... everything. "She's... I was at the sink... she just showed up! In the window!"

Nick raised an eyebrow. "Who appeared at the window?"
He groaned. "You're not 'at war' with the kids down the road again, are you? Because no matter how scary nine year olds on bikes with silly string can be, you're over-reacting just a little."

Travis pushed Nick's hands off his shoulders. "Come see for yourself."
"I can't. Sunlight through the window, remember? Just tell me."
"You won't believe it, mate."

Selene rushed down the stairs,  Owen close at her heels. "What the hell happened? You freaked out mum, because she couldn't come quickly. So, what the hell happened?"

Travis pointed towards the kitchen. "It was... Maddie. She just... appeared. Like a ghost or something, in the window."

Now everyone was giving him funny looks.
Rolling her eyes and muttering under her breath, Selene walked into the kitchen, over to the sink by the window. "There's nothing here, except half-done washing up."

"Boo!"

Selene squealed, dropping the dirty plate she was holding into the sink with a splash.

From the stirred-up water, Maddie scowled jokily. "Hey, that went through my nose!"
