"Okay let's start simple. Say my name is Carly." Ivan says.
"My number is Carly." I say.
"No, Mi nombre es Carly." Ivan says.
"Mi nombre es Carly?" I ask.
"Sí. Know say, I'm eighteen years old."
"Tengo, 18 annos."
"No, tengo dieciocho años."
Two hours later
"Ivan, I don't understand it!" I say, frustratedly.
"Then we can do more tomorrow. So, what do you want to do?"
"I have to go to my friend's house."
"Can, I come."
"She's crying and not ready to see the male species yet." I lie.
"Okay, I love you."
"Love you too." I peck his lips before I leave.
3 hours later
I walk into the house after my Spanish lesson. "Hey baby, how's she doing?"
"Okay, I guess. She wants me to come over tomorrow too."
"Okay." He walks away to do whatever. Emilio walks down the stairs.
"Em!"
"Yeah."
"Can we talk outside real quick?"
"Sure." We walk outside.
"What I'm about to tell you, you can't tell Ivan. I'm taking Spanish lessons and in about a week of them, I'll be able to speak to Ivan in Spanish."
"Awe. "
"Can, you translate all of it to the whole thing."
"Yeah, of course."
"Thank you. Just don't tell Ivan."
"Yeah."
"Thank you so much."
One week later
"Jakey, can you get everyone down here?"
"Yeah, sure, lil sis." Everyone gathers in the door way.
"So, this is something special for Ivan." He walks up to me. "Ivan, te quiero tanto, así que decidí tomar clases de español sólo para decirte esto. Emilio aceptó traducir todo para mí al resto de la casa. Lo sé, querías enseñarme español pero quería decirte en Español cuánto me encanta. Ivan, te amo a la luna y de vuelta, eres una de las cosas más grandiosas que me han pasado. Gracias por aguantar la mía y la basura de Jake. Eres una persona increíble. Te quiero." Ivan, starts getting teary eyed.
"Ivan, I love you so much, so, I decided to take Spanish lessons just to tell you this. Emilio agreed to translate everything for me to the rest of the house. I know, you wanted to teach me spanish but I wanted to tell you in Spanish how much I love. Ivan, I love you to the moon and back, you are one of the greatest things that have ever happened to me. Thank you for putting up with mine and Jake's crap. You're such an amazing person. I love you." Emilio says.
"Te amo." Ivan sniffles.
"No llores por favor."
Do not cry please.
